Questions & Answers

I have 2 small 10 lbs dogs. Will they be allowed? I cannot move without them and am able to get a doctor's note for them. Thank you.

We allow one pet per apartment unless there is a medical need for an exception.

Do you have 1 apt available for rent and what is the monthly cost

Emily Babu | Sep 29, 2021
Marianne Delorey | Sep 29, 2021

Hi Emily, We have waiting lists for all our units, so no, we do not have current availability. Our monthly costs vary. If you are eligible for a Section 8 subsidy, your rent would be 30% or your income (approximately). For our unsubsidized units, the rent is currently $1000.

Hi Merilyn, we have a wait list for all units. I always suggest people apply early and often. You can find our applications on our website at www.colonyretirementhomes.org or we can mail them to you if you call during business hours.

Hi Sheila! At Colonies I and II we are restricted to 62 years of age and older. At the other Colonies we can also accept people who are younger and who need the features of accessible apartments. Rents vary. Most are set at 30% of household income. Rents for non-subsidized units are currently at $1000. Let us know if you have other questions. And for James, below (I don't know how to respond to you directly), one bedroom apartments vary, but are around 500 square feet.

Marianne Delorey | Sep 30, 2019

Hi Linda, the square footage varies, but is generally between 440 and 530. You can get a good sense of the closet space by looking at the typical floor plan on the brochure on our website. Follow this link and download the brochure: https://colonyretirementhomes.org/colony-1-2/application/ Thanks for posting!

Most rents are set at 30% of adjusted income. Some rents are considered "affordable" and are currently between $700 and $800 depending on income.
