I very much liked this office in the past, but it seems as though the staff are suffering from compassion fatigue. While I was rhere for my puppy to get shots a dog that was hit by a car was rushed in. It was so terrible to see a grown man sobbing as his dog's life hangs in the balance. While that's happening a tech is out front complaining they had to stay late. One tech literally laughed at a question I had and answered in a very condescending way. I'm assuming because it had to do with vaccines, which I'm not opposed to I just wanted to know how they could affect a breed that's prone to autoimmune issues. On another occasion I called to ask if I could bring my second dog to a future appt and they acted like I was a complete inconvenience. At said appt a tech cornered my dog who was throwing so many obvious stress signals (lip licking, tight facial expression, whale eye, crouching stiff body) and proceeded to try to make him stand and take his temperature. Obviously my dog reacted in a very frightened manner and the tech acted like it came out of nowhere. Anyone who knows basic canine body language could see that this dog was going to react. During the exam my dog was put in a head lock and screamed and thrashed because of it. I had to ask the tech to let go because obviously this method wasn't working. They seem very closed minded to the idea of cooperative care or force free methods, which is funny because they have a sign in the lobby that says "fear free". In the past this dog has had surgical staples removed with out a problem, the difference was this dog was restrained with a slip lead instead of someone bear hugging him. Its upsetting because it feels as though this may have set his training back so far after all the progress weve made. I have trained this dog to accept his nails being dremeled, blow dried, teeth brushed, and ears cleaned when he used to be afraid of a collar being put on him. All it took was empathy and treats. I understand they're on a time limit and I would have been fine to have to come back a different day if force free methods took too long. That being said they definitely have some great points, they've been very patient in the past when my bank was giving me a problem with payment, they saved my dog's life when he decided to eat a carpet, and they were very compassionate in the past. But I'm going to have to go to different office from now on.

Dr. Standnes and the staff at AAH are caring, compassionate, and competent. Best animal hospital in the area!

excellent with my german shepherd aurora who is not good with other pets and very peculiar about where she will allow you to touch her...they know I am on a fixed income and work within my financial needs so my pet can live a long happy healthy life...the staff is the best...I would highly recommend.. .

Ok thank you I was just told there is not. Animals are sent out
We do provide euthanasia services. I'm sorry your pet isn't well... please call our office so we can help.
I have never boarded my Dog anywhere.
Yes but don't leave your animal there. They will ignore any instructions you give them and your pet will return to you in an agitated state.
Yes all 3... better to give a call especially if emergency to let the staff prepare.
My cat's rabies vaccine costed $20. That doesn't include the examination fee which I believe is $60
