This was probably my favorite hike while in the park. Definitely recommend starting this trail very early in the AM as many people will start packing the trail as the morning goes on. The hike is strenuous especially if you go on to Nevada Falls. The views are definitely worth it! Recommend bringing a light rain jacket as you will get plenty of mist all over you! Great trail for the solo photographer!

The way up is pretty strenuous, being heavily uphill most of the way. It is a well maintained and clean paved trail, however, with absolutely breathtaking views the entire time. You weave around the mountain edge and work your way higher and higher. I'll admit, I might have enjoyed the view along the way more than the destination - which for me was only going so far as the Vernal Falls Bridge. The view of the falls FROM the bridge is - a bit disappointing. You can see maybe about half of the falls from the bridge as trees are in the way. I can tell the falls would be fantastic to see up close, I just didn't have the time / energy to continue further.

Longest hike me and my husband has been on. It took us around ~3.5 hours round trip. We visited in 7/12/21 and it was super hot ~100 degrees but was still oh so worth it. Must visit if you can walk that far and that long. Super comfy shoes and clothing a must! There was a spot that had rubbles so you need to be able to navigate around that.
