We had a disappointing hike. The signs for the trailhead are hidden and rotted so we mistakenly entered from the wrong direction and had views of abandoned boat ramp and dry lake bed until the trail became too soft and steep for my old knees. $10 for day use pass made this a costly mistake.

What a quaint little pocket of sunshine camping. Definitely have bears so be prepared. Loved the proximity to the lake for fishing and swimming and hiking. We will be back!

A fun little 5k. Prettier than you can tell from the parking lot. The trail stays above the water for the most part, but there are a couple of areas where you can get down to the shore.

Are there good views of Mt. Shasta from the trail?

If I remember correctly, it's an upfront view but there are lots of trees and the fwy overcross. May need to hike down a bit and the water level is high so it may be tough.
