I have had the pleasure of working with Tommy, Hans and the front office over the past 7 years. Whenever I needed parts to repair the shutters Eurex installed, they were consistently able to provide all of the items I required (In Stock!) and even offered several tips to expedite the repairs. Anyone can sell you a product, it is the service and support that follows which defines the seller. Honest owners, quality products, service with a smile, that's Eurex.

After 26 yrs working perfectly i had a problem with one of my 3 EUREX hurricane shutters on my liani. After a phone call to EUREX, 2 expert workers showed up at my condo & solved my problem in 45 minutes. Both these gentlemen were longtime employees & showed their expertise by how efficiently they worked. I would highly recommend EUREX SHUTTERS to all my friends & neighbors. Accordion shutters provide a lot of functionality and pack a lot of features for a relatively affordable price. Accordions are about in the middle of the price spectrum when it comes to hurricane shutters, but they are easy to use and install. As a result accordion storm shutters offer good value.
For a typical home or business that has well functioning accordion shutters you could expect to install them in 20-30 minutes. This type of shutter is very easy to operate because they slide into place.
You can expect to pay about $16 - $20/SQFT for accordion shutters. The exact cost varies depending on the materials you select, the price of raw materials at the time of purchase, and the specific features you choose for your accordion shutters. Contact Eurex Shutters for a quote.
For Eurex Shutters bran storm shutters most are made out of aluminum. We also offer clear hurricane shutter options (made from polycarbonate), including our roll down shutters, accordion shutters, and storm panels. We also offer hurricane fabric panels.
It depends on if you are a full-time or seasonal resident in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples, or anywhere in Southwest Florida. In general, installing your storm shutters a few days in advance of a storm is sufficient. Seasonal residents many times will close or install their shutters at the start of hurricane season in June. Then they take them down in November at the end of hurricane season. Some of our shutters like Accordions and Roll-Downs only take a few minutes to close so these can be used closer to the storm. If you are installing aluminum or polycarbonate storm panels give yourself at least a few days to install them.
All new construction and pre-existing homes and condos need some form of hurricane protection. Any “glass” opening on a home has the potential to break during a storm, which allows wind and rain to enter the building. These are the openings that should be protected by hurricane shutters or impact glass. Other uses would be to enclose a Lanai or porch with storm shutters so that they are protected from severe weather.
Hurricane shutters work by protecting the “envelope” of your Southwest Florida home. In other words, the storm shutters protect any glass opening that may be at risk of damage by flying debris. They can be installed to protect windows, doors, garages, and lanais, and porches. Hurricane shutters are either permanently installed or installed before a storm happens (in the case of storm panels).
There are several different sytles of hurricane shutters to pick from in Fort Myers and throughout Southwest Florida. These include: Roll down shutters Accordion shutters Aluminum storm panels Clear polycarbonate storm panels Bahama Shutters (also known as Bermuda shutters) Colonial Shutters Clamshell shutters
Both options have their advantages. Impact windows offer 24/7 protection without having to install and uninstall before a storm. On the downside, hurricane windows have a higher price vs. shutter options. Hurricane shutters protect glass openings and are a bit less expensive vs. impact windows. However, they may not be the most aesthetically pleasing option, especially if you chose an option like storm panels.
Fabric shutters are effective as long as they meet and exceed the latest FL building codes. If they do, fabric options offer a light-weight, easy to use option to protect your home.
Hurricane shutters for a standard house can range anywhere from a couple thousand dollars to tens of thousands, depending on the specific type and the specific house. Storm Panels are offer base protection at a lower cost, with Accordions being middle of the road, and Roll-Downs and impact windows and glass being the most expensive. As a rule of thumb, hurricane shutters can range from $10 per square foot to $33 or more per square foot.
The cost of hurricane shutters range anywhere from $10 a square foot to $50 per square foot. Metal and aluminum storm panels are low cost options, and Colonial, Bermuda (Bahama) and Rolling shutters are on the higher end.
You should expect to pay around $25 - $29/SQFT for rolling hurricane shutters. These are a premium type of storm shutter due to their added functionality and multi-use for security purposes. The price you pay for your rolling shutters will depend on the features you select and the materials and labor cost.
The best hurricane shutters for you will depend on your needs, preferences and budget. For instance, if you want your shutters to add attractive style to your home then Bahama or Colonial shutters are probably the best choice. If you are looking for maximum hurricane and security protection then roll down shutters may be your best option.
Yes. If you live in the Fort Myers area then some form of hurricane shutters or storm protection is absolutely worth the cost. Most importantly, storm shutters will protect your home, family and place of business. They may also save you money on your homeowner's insurance policy and increase your home's value to buyers.
