This is mine and my man's favorite riding place. It's a little over an hour from where we live but so worth it. The beautiful trails are marked and have water, winding trails, and up and down hills. The parking lot is easily accessible and …

Great, easy hike. Parking for those not pulling a horse trailer can be limited, so just be aware. Nice and quiet with a really pretty river crossing. This trail is for both hikers and riders and offers plenty for both.

Great place to go hiking if you want to get away from the screaming kids and herds of unawares at the main park. I'll never understand why humans go to a place such as Raven Rock to get away from their daily lives and have a peaceful walk in nature and then yap constantly, let their kids run around screaming like a banshee and have some kind of music blaring wide open on their cell phone or whatever other device they bring.

Take the West Trail towards Avent Creek. There is a beautiful spot about 15 minutes hike with a couple small waterfalls.

Always check the website to make sure. I've only been one time when they were closed. It was my own fault for not checking. Usually only because a bad storm had gone through and the trails were muddy and trees were down. Again, my own fault. Website us kept up daily.
You don't have to schedule a time. Parking is good for trailers. Plenty of parking as the bridle trails are one of the few places we can go. 8 to 8 are the hours. Just show up. Each trail is 4 miles. Do bring Coggins papers, just in case.
This is a trail for horses, better for leashed dogs is the "fish trap trail," the trail of fish traps.
