Great dog park
Amanda Ampey
Excellent park with numerous areas for the kids. The train was a highlight and well organized. The park had various zones to entertain any age of kid. All positive points, except the mulch at the park was severely low and the park was mostly a mud pit during sept.

Cabin John Park has an active dog pen where visitors routinely bring dogs of all sizes. Many people walk their pets (dogs/cats) around the paved trail. I have been walking around the Paved Trail near the kids train for over a year and have never seen a threatening animal such as a bear or coyote. If such an animal were to approach the area, I am sure the numerous dogs would erupt in barking. They would sense such animals way before humans. I am always alert for a stray fox or raccoon but have never seen one. Having all those dogs around provides comfort. And some of those dogs look large enough to take on a coyote. Hope this helps.
Hello Rosa, As far as I know Cabin John park is open to public. I have seen family with kids and some camp counselor with kids. If you intend to see the picnic table for a large group of people ,I think you need to make a reservation. If you decide to take the children, they will definitely like it there. They have a train ride that goes around the park..it will be fun filled day trip. I hope it help. Stay Bless and Safe!
First week of April
I don't think so. You may be able to get away with a small dog, but the seats aren't made for a big dog.
We met family there last weekend. Miniature trains are not running. Picnic area is open.
People cycle on Tuckerman. And one could use a trail bike on the trails here.
And there are a couple of parking lots
There are pavilions but they require reservations. They are located near the train.
It seems like the trains run from 10am to 6pm on weekends only right now. Starting June trains will run daily.
Not a great one, no. Kids can get creative in one place but it's not really for pull ups.
