Super amazing place, love the Native Landscapes and Garden Center. The extremely knowledgeable and awesome Sue showed me around and introduced me to the world of Sanibel native plants I had only read about in books. Then I met with the awesome Becca, who came to my property and we walked through it discussing what I want, what I have. I knew right then and there I had to hire SCCF to help me on my journey to a 99.9% natural native Sanibel landscape. I am so looking forward to this, Becca and everyone from SCCF I have spoken to has been awesome, knowledgeable, just basically incredible people. As a new person to SW Florida, I am not capable of figuring out what grows where, what works to attract what I want to attract to my property.I can read books, but it is not the same as having a true expert guide you. Even if you are only a visitor to our beautiful island, please take a look at the Native Landscapes. It might give you inspiration as to how to make the place you call home more eco-friendly. If you live in Sanibel, call SCCF for ideas. Learn from experts how to create a beautiful backyard and garden that is natural.

Neat place for an easy walk/hike. Good for kids. Few loop trails along the Sanibel River with a lookout tower. Was hoping to see more wildlife but did see White Iris, Herons, butterflies and fish. Some parts Sun and some shade too. Good way to kill an hour or two if you need a break from the beach/pool.

Nice trials, muddy but nice

It was empty, my kids were very disapointed.

The Nature Center and it's trails do not allow dogs since it's on conservation and preserve land. But the SCCF Native Landscapes & Garden Center's Shipley Trail on periwinkle does allow leashed dogs.
Hi Bonni, we suggest contacting the Cape Coral Environmental Resources Department, which conducts routine water quality monitoring and lab sampling, at (239) 574-0745. You can also learn more about their work with water quality and algae blooms at https://www.capecoral.gov/special_project_plans/harmful_algal_bloom.php and https://www.capecoral.gov/department/public_works/environmental_resources/water_quality___conservation.php.
If you are looking for the lite blue color you will be disappointed right now. With the Army Corps. Engineers draining the Lake O overflow down the Callosahatchi it has taken a negative effect on beaches South of the river
