Tour guides at both houses were fantastic. The Woodlawn Plantation house tour guide described the succession of owners on the property and how they changed the property. He did a good job of asking questions for the attendees to keep their interest and draw them in. That tour was about 45 minutes of minutes of walking around half of the outside of the house and then some of both floors of the inside. The tour for Frank Lloyd Wright’s Pope-Leighey House was about 35 min, but lots of time at the end to continue to look through the house and ask ask the guide questions. The tour guide was phenomenal! He pointed out all of the architectural features that were part of Frank Lloyd Wright's hallmark in design. Very enjoyable tours.

Took the Pope-Leighey House tour, and our guide was friendly, informative, and made my first Frank Lloyd Wright house visit a great experience! The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained, and tour proceeds go towards the conservation of Virginia historic sites. Would definitely recommend visiting and the tour!

Our guides (James at Woodlawn and Karen at Pope-Leighey) were very knowledgeable, excited about the properties and their history, engaging, and kind. After years of living in the area, I finally visited with my parents and we all three enjoyed our time very much. The staff who checked us in were polite, professional, and helpful. The houses and their history are fascinating and the grounds are lovely. I highly recommend a visit!
