A provider I’ve known since professional school recently told me the staff is labeling me ‘mean’ when I don’t recall much interaction with nursing (in particular) except for intake, and the the techs. This would never come from providers as well (MD’s and NPs-they’re not like that and have always been respectful and professional in my dealings with KKI and the care of my child). I am just shocked: really? Hearing this was like a slap in the face and a huge disappointment in the institution. How about a required annual inservice or MyLearning online course to encourage employees to have a better empathetic understanding of what it feels like to be the parent of a special needs child and the multitude of various constant struggles that are far beyond the normal person’s comprehension? Perhaps then this would discourage talking down and bad mouthing parents! Because unless you’ve been in their shoes you really have no clue, even as a health care provider. This disgraceful unsupportive behavior clearly demonstrates that their mission statement is not being upheld when these parents are desperate for help for every little thing their child can’t do which we all take for granted. Please improve this! It’s just wrong.

I’m not sure if Dr. Ranjit Varghese is still working in the facility, if he does the facility care should be great with his contribution
