We had a time here. I had only been to the Bmore location and rated it highly originally l. However, my second visit wasn’t as pleasant. I was mainly turned off by the sticky floors and tables. However, that wasn’t the case at this location. The place was clean, vibrant and full of life!

This location was disappointing. We have visited SE, Hyattsville, and Tacoma Park and this was the first time the food didn't meet expectations. The people who had salads were happy, but those of us with warm bowls were disappointed - even after we sent them back for corrections, since all the items listed on the menu were not included. Customer service wasn't bad.

Busboys and Poets has generally terrible service, especially if you eat al fresco (they'll likely just forget about you). That said, the menu and food are superb and I will always keep coming back for them! It's also probably the best restaurant in DC for groups with some vegan/vegetarian friends, given how expansive the menu is. I can't quit you, Busboys!

No...Andy Shallal is Iraqi American; however, you can find quite a bit of black literature, culture, and art pieces at his restaurants.
So that you get a full dining experience and aren't being rushed out of the door as soon as your food arrives. And since you're eating and not in a rush, maybe you order that extra glass of wine. Or would you rather they closed everything at 12:45 and continue closing operations without the added income and ability to continue to keep guests happy? It's basic business sense.
