Let me start off by saying that its clear to me, in my own personal experience , that disability Insurance companies will explore every avenue, try to dissect any medical opinion, unreasonably question any expert opinion (s) , will stall the claims process ( in the hopes the injured party will run out of money or give up the fight ),so that the end result is they don’t have to pay a dime on a legitimate claim--Period . That’s the lay of the land and along with it they push the edge of the moral and legal envelope, especially if the injured party is young. To take the fight to them you need a team of legal professionals who know the law and have had a wealth of experience in dealing with the tactics of the individual companies and their efforts to minimize or deny your claim Their experience aids them on how best to prepare the case and to give you the chance to get the resolution you are looking for. Riemer- Hess represented my daughter in a very contentious disability claims case. I can attest to the fact that this firm is professional in every aspect of the process. They are transparent in that they communicate effectively , answer your concerns and questions with straight forward answers and they have no other agenda but to get your case settled for it’s true value. Jennifer Hess is an excellent attorney who is tenacious and extremely knowledgeable not only with the ERISA statues but also with how many of these insurance companies play the game. She and her team develops a strategy on how best to take the fight to them and that is exactly what you need. As I said it's a team effort at RH and the support team Jennifer has of paralegals etc. is efficient and knowledgeable. They assign one or two very specific associates to your case so they know the case file inside and out. Bottom line is unlike some bigger firms the file is not drifting from one associate to another ,therefore there is continuity in the strategy and with the people working the case. We WON our case –it was not easy and the Insurance company threw every objection and excuse they could at us—but we prevailed due to the work done by RH. I highly recommend that you talk to them ,take into consideration my experience and listen to what they have to say before you settle on what team you want fighting this uphill battle for you.

They successfully helped me see my case with a very difficult insurer to fruition. They made the process tolerable at a time when my health prevented me from doing it myself. The staff is very professional and prompt when responding to my inquiries and concerns. They had the answers to every curve ball that was thrown and I could not have realized my outcome without them. This is a top notch firm, I’m glad I found them and highly recommend them!

I was very fortunate to have Riemer Hess as the law firm representing me on my long term disability claim. Due to progression of my medical condition (young-onset Parkinson's Disease) I was not able to work any longer. This in itself has been very stressful for my family and I. The team at Riemer Hess has been wonderful. Their expertise and professionalism have been above my expectations. They were always courteous, caring, and attentive to my concerns, never rushed on calls, and available even on weekends. Many thanks particularly to Arianna and Matthew, whom I interacted with the most, for being successful in obtaining my LTD claim as stress-free as possible. You are professionals who truly care about your clients.

My long term disability claim was denied. How do I appeal?

Riemer Hess LLC | Sep 30, 2019
Riemer Hess LLC | Sep 30, 2019

When you are appealing a denial of benefits the overall challenge is that you need to convince the same private disability insurance company who denied your claim to reverse itself. Not only is it difficult to convince anyone to admit that they were wrong, but here we need to convince an insurer to admit it was wrong when it has a financial incentive not to pay you. Although tempting, to yell at the insurer and demonstrate how unscrupulous it is, it is not going to convince the insurer to change its mind. In fact, it is almost guaranteed to harden their position. At Riemer & Associates, our disability attorneys have proven strategies for overcoming these challenges. We do this by preparing comprehensive appeals that address all of the concerns raised by the insurer, and by providing new evidence that changes the claim. Is Your Disability Insurer Monitoring Your Social Media?

Riemer Hess LLC | Sep 30, 2019
Riemer Hess LLC | Sep 30, 2019

It’s becoming increasingly common for long term disability insurers to spy on claimants’ social media accounts. Accessing social media accounts is generally an easy and inexpensive for insurers to get personal information about disabled claimants and their activities. Many social media profiles contain vast amounts of personal info from which the insurer may draw negative conclusions. Unfortunately, it works. Every year, the insurance companies save money by denying claims based on evidence obtained during social media searches. CAN I RECEIVE LONG TERM DISABILITY BENEFITS FOR AMYOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS (ALS)?

Riemer Hess LLC | Sep 30, 2019
Riemer Hess LLC | Sep 30, 2019

Yes. Although ALS іѕ a рrоgrеѕѕіvе and fаtаl disease, to receive long term disability benefits your claim must still be supported by sufficient medical evidence and proof of appropriate treatment. It is also important to provide a detailed explanation of how your symptoms prevent you from performing your job duties. Don’t simply assume the insurance carrier will see the connection. You must explain it in detail. Click on this link for more info. https://www.riemerlawfirm.com/wiki/can-i-receive-long-term-disability-benefits-for-amyotrophic-lateral-sclerosis-als
