New Msg Mgr is accusing staff of unethical behavior reported by other employees. She doesn’t ask you if you said or did the said behavior. She believes what they said and writes you up. She’s constantly eavesdropping and sending emails that are hurtful. Toxic work environment! Don’t risk losing your license!

Okay I thought long and hard about whether I would leave a review or not. Mine was a definite unique experience and stay. I gave four stars because they deserve that and the only reason they didn't get five stars is because I believe the staff is over worked & underpaid. That's just my belief because there were times staff when asked a question or when you needed something they would quickly pass the buck or look like they were confused and that's just because everybody seems to be doing everybody's job and pulling together as a team which is great but I don't feel the patients should ever see behind the curtain. I'm going to start with the nurses. At the beginning my experience was not a good one because I was very sick and detoxing. I disrespected and used foul language and was asked to leave. I was allowed to come back and I believe that that was fair and getting consequences for those actions was a very enlightening moment for me. So there are five star staff members and I'd like to give a special thanks to Nurse Perot( not sure of spelling) Bill ( who is the heart & soul of Epic) the entire kitchen staff ( not only good food but good attitudes and respectful...minus the bitter night lady( get happy boo) Ashley ( who is an angel & cares) and imo the hardest working person I've met tech Kianna ( I'm sure I didn't spell that correctly) she's everything an employer & somebody needing help could ask for. A beautiful human doing. ..Like I said for the most part the stay was tolerable except for a little mix up with some meds that eventually drove me out of residential where I spent 1 day.... Mel Zach & Melissa were amazing but honestly I was coming out of my skin wasn't willing to stay. Had I been detoxed using protocol this might have a different ending geographically but I am now back in California and in detox getting my needs met from a medical standpoint...I feel everyone there at Epic cares but is just stretched thin and like they say success rolls down hill ( and so does s#@t) so to whoever can make that change happen give these folks the tools they need to succeed that work there and pay them what they're worth....Id like to thank them for all they did and tried to do for me. ( Oh yeah and stop shutting the day room on the detox side at 9:00 am to be cleaned πŸ˜‰)

I have not been with epic long enough to give a review for the treatment center as a whole, but I knew I needed to come here to give 5 stars specifically for the therapist Rob (the former police officer). I know that I knew that I needed to write this review for others who might be considering reaching out "one last time" to really feel seen and heard. He was the most professional, non judgmental medical personnel I have ever met in my life.( And I've worked in the medical field for years.) Rob gave me hope today. That people like him exist and that there is a future reaching out to medical personnel in the field.. Rob never interrupted me one time! He never made me feel like I was wasting his time, that I was repeating myself or reiterating anything that he had already understood or that he wanted to move on to the next thing. He walked me to my car and continued to let me talk (which I didn't even know that I needed to continue talking) and he was very patient when I tried to stop myself, because I know that most people who have reached out to doctors have felt this way, like you were annoying them or bothering them or taking up precious time when they could be helping someone else. He also didn't let me cut myself off either, which anyone who's been in that situation or felt that feeling, knows what a big deal that is. Rob was the most patient understanding non judgmental ear and I just want to reiterate that & leave this review for those of you who feel unseen and unheard and a little bit hopeless with the medical community as whole. If you're worried that you will be dismissed because you are fat, or you will be dismissed because your gender, or you will be dismissed because you're "hysterical" because you're crying because you're loud because you're crying because you're loud because you've repeated yourself, or dismissed because you have the wrong kind of insurance, whatever reason that you have been dismissed in the past (and I know that you have if you're reading this because it happens all too often in today's medical field) I want to let you know that Rob will not dismiss you. He will probably hear you out, he will take your concern seriously your thoughts seriously, and he won't rush you or make you feel judged. And that makes just Rob a diamond in the rough and worth leaving this review for. Even if we never see Rob again in this journey that we are taking for mental health, I have hope. I know this will help someone just to know that there are Robs out there... And I want to let this specific Rob know that he's made a difference.

Epic is an emazing place for recovery and detox. If your debating? Stop and just do it! You won’t regret it. Don’t stop at detox but also consider residential. You will be taught recovery tools on how to deal with the addiction that you are battling. Melanie is by far the best conselor I’ve ever met! She’s kind and compassionate and you can tell shes genuine and loves her work. We all can’t say enough about her! It was such a privilege and a blessing. I am forever in debt for this life changing opportunity. πŸ’•
