This experience sucked. My boyfriend's birthday is today. He's heard great reviews and recommendations about dining at Ruth Chris. I decided to make reservations and surprise him. I included that there was a birthday in the notes. We show up, and we are asked again by the person seating us if we are celebrating anything and again I stated his birthday. Then even though I made the order swiftly thinking that the restaurant week special with the no substitution sides was the only special. Overheard the server breaking down specials to a nearby table. I'm so unhappy with the experience not what I expected at all.

So we went on a Sunday evening and had a suboptimal experience. The food was good and server was nice, but there were a few issues with dinner. We each had cocktails, which tasted nice, but were actually too strong for some at dinner (they asked for a weak/light drink specifically). We had 1 steak order come out for the wrong size (16 vs 12 oz) and it was not cooked as requested (medium vs medium rare). Also, we had to ask to get a water glass refill (shouldn't that just be automatic after an empty glass for 30 mins?). While we want to emphasize that the server did try to make up and the food wasn't bad, we all agreed we won't going back to this (or any other Ruth's Chris) in the next decade. At the price point, you really want a special meal and exceptional service. Maybe our expectations were too high, but there's other restaurants nearby that really are top-notch (e.g. Oceanaire)

First time at Ruth's Chris and I was not disappointed at all! Everything was as stated and food was amazing, zero complaints. Steak was so sizzling hot and good I didn't even catch a pic of it lol

Ruth's Chris Pier 5 is less than a 5-minute walk to The "Charm'tastic Mile" to E. Pratt Street or President Street. Pratt St. & President St. make up the 1.3 mile corridor of The Mile that starts in Downtown-west to Harbor East.
They take your temperature when you walk in. Seating is spaced.
Only if you are eating at the bar, however if you plan to dine in the restaurant then NO ... the have a dress code listed on their front door, I have dine at the downtown location and the pikeville location and both of them have the same dress code, to give you peace of mind, just call the location that you will be visiting and ask for yourself... enjoy it's a really nice restaurant...
That I'm not sure about, I would suggest that you call the restaurant and ask them...
No, but we just started a $35.95, 3-course special that is bound to bring in some guest.
Dinner Mon - Thu 5 - 10 pm Fri - Sat 5 - 11 pm Sun 4 - 9 pm Lounge opens at 4pm daily
