Quiet relaxing place to go and enjoy family time. Office manager Kathy is friendly and helps with anything that is needed. We had a family reunion there and everyone had a wonderful time.

We have a 27 foot travel trailer and needed an easy access overnight campground to accommodate an early morning drop off for two Boy Scouts for camp at the Summit Bechtel Reserve. This campground was perfect for our needs. The host lives on the premises, was accessible and knowledgeable about the area. The campground is not for those wanting a destination park, but would serve well as a great centrally located place to take part in all of the activities in the area.

Made a reservation and paid in full for one night that is 2 days from now. Due to a medical emergency I called to cancel my reservation with a full 54 hours before I could check in. I was told that I would not receive a refund because they were sold out for that day and were turning people away! Can you believe this???? I’m pretty sure there are laws against their lack of a refund with at least a 2 day notice. I will report them to the authorities who gave them a business license and recommend that this place be avoided when you need a campsite in Glen Jean, WV

This is a no frills, solid campground! They have about ~20 or so sites with electric and water along with a whole field you could dry camp in, which is what we did on the busy 4th of July weekend. The field was safe, well kept, and the bathrooms/showers were exactly what we needed. Best part was the management! The owner truly cares about this place and goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need at all times of the day. Not to mention that the location is GREAT! All in all, would highly recommend and will most definitely be staying again the next time we’re in the area.
