My 9 y/o daughter had a traumatic experience with choking. Since she was having difficulty sleeping, nightmares, fear she was “going to Heaven” As a mom, my heart aches for her. She was showing signs of depression as well. We saw Dezerrae at the San Tan office & within a few weeks my daughter began going to bed & staying asleep with no problems, her nightmares started to disappear, she was much happier & felt “stronger” since she was able to own it & take “control” over it! Dezerrae made it fun for her with activities, projects & exercises that appealed to her (kid level!) During our time with Dezerrae we had taken. 2 week vacation & not once did she mention any fears. It was as if nothing happened! I learned so much as a mom from “rainbow breathing” to making “fear catchers” to a feelings “thermometer” & more! I would highly recommend TLC!

I have trusted Total Life Counseling for several years now. They have always done a great job of creating a safe, caring environment for my kids. The counselors have been well equipped and knowledgeable in teaching coping skills, helping my kids to understand their own emotions and overall be more successful in navigating life as teenagers and young adults. They offer different options for individual counseling as well as group therapy and IOP programs. I would highly recommend this practice to others.

We definitely work with teens... in fact, teens make up more than half of our clientele. We have individual therapy for teens as well as DBT Groups and Intensive Outpatient Groups. Unfortunately we don't have therapists contracted with Tri-Care but we have cash rates starting at $50/visit and groups starting at $40/visit. We may have a short wait list but we'd love to help if possible.
We assess alcoholism, and provide individual counseling, or intensive outpatient therapy for alcohol abstinence. We are NOT specifically contracted/authorized to complete DUI packets or DMV paperwork. We refer to the 12 steps in therapy and work with individuals who complete the steps but encourage our clients to work with an individual sponser and attend regular 12 step, mutual support or celebrate recovery mtgs.
