Emergency room should treat patients like the having a Emergency. Sitting for 7 hours in level 10 pain is no fun. Why build a new Emergency room if it still can't treat patients in a timely manner.

I’m a type 1 diabetic who was having signs of something seriously wrong (numbness on my entire left side of my body, a pulsation in my face between my nose and lip, hearing loss followed by a static sound, awful headache, and dizziness to the point of almost passing out) & after waiting in the waiting room for 5+ hours, I explained that as a type 1, I needed to know how many people were ahead of me still as I hadn’t eaten anything in 9 hours. I was told there were still 17 people ahead of me. I understand being short staffed and I wouldn’t take that out on them, but certain people were dealing with much more severe issues than others and had been waiting even longer than I had been. My blood sugar was starting to spike and it was making my other symptoms worse, but because of how uncomfortable the chairs were, we couldn’t handle sitting for another 5 hours. So I went home without getting any help & will now have to choose a different hospital first thing in the morning to get some relief. I will not choose this location again in the future.

You will probably be sent to Triangle Heart in Durham (if you live in this area) as it's been bought out and is part of Duke now. That's my guess even though there are other places they could send you but I really think it'll be there. That is if you are doing yours out patient like I did mine. As for cost that's a whole lot trickier. It depends on if you have insurance and if so what kind, will they use a sliding scale fee if not, would they write it off as charity care or let you make a down payment then make payments. Alot of people don't even realize any of those are options but they are. Ask and ask again. All anyone can do is say no but they say yes sometimes too. It really all depends. I had my first one done at Triangle Heart before Duke bought them out and my last one there since Duke. Good luck and sorry I couldn't be more helpful!
Call the hospital
The parking is across from the door entrance, and it's free!
Yes
Yes its behind Duke regional not sure when it leave
If you can (whenever you have an emergency and if its possible)to go WakeMed in Brier Creek its always has a shorter wait time and they can send your records over to Duke. I love Duke Hospitals and Doctors, just not for emergency care.(unless its somthing really major there's always a long wait at both Duke hospitals)
