I had a very positive experience today in this Ortho Urgent Care. I visited for a foot injury. Everyone, from the front reception staff, to the intake nurse, X-ray tech, and doc, were very helpful and professional. Maybe I had lucky timing, but I was seen promptly. The doc explained my diagnosis to me very clearly, with patience and time for my many questions! I didn't feel rushed asking questions. He made sure all questions were answered. Also provided very clear instructions for home-care, including how I'll know when/if a follow-up appt is needed (rather than just ordering a follow-up visit by default), which I appreciated. When returning home, I looked through my med chart/ doc notes. Notes are very thorough and reflect exactly what he told me. Also, felt quite Covid-safe to me (all staff well-masked, good spacing, lots of hand-sanitiz stations, I could hear the building ventilation 'fans' working in all areas including small exam room, and signs posted that all patients must be masked or will be escorted out of facility).

I was seen this morning at Duke Ortho Urgent Care. When I checked in, I was given an estimate of the wait time. I think this really helped. I was seen by Sean Wilson, PA. I was impressed that he had obviously read thru my slightly complicated medical history prior to my being seen. He was thoughtful, pleasant and obviously knowledgeable. I had X-rays while I was there and the X-ray professional (wish I could remember her name) was kind and patient. I felt that I had a very comprehensive visit. I didn't feel rushed and was given plenty of time for questions. I would highly recommend this Ortho Urgent Care.

Waited over 40 minutes to see Orthopedics Doctor for a spinal injury, which caused me to be late picking my daughter up. Totally unacceptable and unprofessional. They charge patients for showing up late; however fail to take any accountability for having those same patients wait. He was literally in the hallway talking to staff for 10 additional minutes.

I'd like to give ZERO stars. Duke should be ashamed to have their name associated with this place. I have been a Duke patient for many years, and this place is nothing like the Duke care that I have previously known. I am having an urgent knee issue, cannot put weight on my left leg, and tons of knee pain. I drove out of my way on two different days, as per my primary doctor. Both days I was unprofessionally turned away by very rude and impatient front desk staff, pretty much screaming at all of us in the long line, that the wait for urgent care is 3.5 to 4 hour long. There was a lady in front of me in a heated discussion with the urgent care desk clerk. The clerk just abruptly walked away and did not return the entire time I was there. The lady asked for a manager and eventually one came to speak to her in a private area. I was left standing there puzzled, with no one at the desk. Again yelled at by someone on the other side (the appointment check in side) that it would be a long long wait for urgent care. Maybe Duke should consider shutting down the urgent care section if they aren't able to provide URGENT CARE, nor train employees to treat folk with respect.
