Great stay. We arrived around 330 pm in the rain and after checking out the grounds we asked if we could start a fire. Dante was great and got a great fire going that lasted all night. We didnโt get to try out the restaurant but several guests did and they said it was very good. Temperatures are 25-30 below the valley and this was the reason for coming all the way to Greer. We make a trip to Springerville, then down to Alpine and then the long way back via Big Lake. We stopped for a snack at the lake and soaked up the cool almost chili weather.

Greer, AZ is a small town in beautiful mountainous surroundings. We took friends with us to celebrate my wife's birthday at the restaurant at the resort. It is at the end of town in Greer. We thought we might have missed it but we saw their sign and drove up the short road to the resort. Inside we found the restaurant with several window seats looking out at the forest and mountains. We wanted good German food and as German food goes in the US this was pretty good. It was a little pricey but there was plenty of food; enough to bring home for another meal. It was not busy so we were seated right away. The waitress forgot to bring us our beers, but other than that the service was good. If you want as close to authentic German food and drink as you can get, I think you will like this. We did.

I'm reviewing Cabin one. Overall cleanliness is horrendous ๐ซ. Heater in main room doesn't work. The fireplace looks like it hasn't been cleaned in forever. The front porch needs to be swept. Wifi is spotty at best. Continental breakfast was supposed to be available at 7:00 am. At 8:30 we gave up and drove 12 miles to the closest open restaurant. No one at the front desk . They posted a phone number to call if assistance is needed. No one answers and you're prompted to leave a message. Never got a call back. When I finally spoke with the manager she was very curt and acted like I was putting her out. When I asked her if I was bothering her, she said that she was very busy . She did start to write down my complaints but did so very begrudgingly. Said she'd send housekeeping and maintenance. After that I was dismissed . We'll see! The beds were comfortable at least. The main lodge was very nice. Locals say that the restaurant has good food. However we chose not to eat at the restaurant because of the way that the manager had treated me. They are a pet friendly place and charged a low rate for the dog. We were allowed to check-in early. If it weren't for the above complaints it would have been a nice stay. If the manager had acknowledged my concerns in a more professional way I wouldn't have left this review. I would recommend Greer but I wouldn't recommend renting a cabin at this place. UPDATE : They never sent maintenance or housekeeping. I had booked this place as a birthday gift for my sister. What a disappointment. I prefer to use mom and pop businesses and I loathe to leave a bad review.

Stayed a couple of weeks ago. It was freezing. None of the heaters in the rooms or the restaurant were working. The nice woman gave us a space heater but it didn't do much to help. We had a great time at the bar but had to wear our coats and hats the whole time. The servers were frozen but amazing service. The food was good but it was so cold that you could only got a few bites in while it was hot. Had a run in with the owner's son. At least that's what he told us. Talked smack because we were "killing his high". All while he was making an alcoholic drink but looked to be maybe 17. Just wow!
