Wake Med North is my Hospital of choice. I have been extremely pleased with the Staff, Doctors & Nurses. I have used both their ER and in-patient services and they are hands down the best Medical facility to seek emergency and hospitalization services. I can't say enough great things about Wake Med North.

I have given this place a chance twice now and gotten the same doctor, and both times have been a complete waste. I went in recently with a severe sore throat that was interfering with my ability to eat and sleep, as well as congestion in my head that was causing intense pain in my ear and jaw. I had dealt with this for a week and was desperate for something to help. I was tested for Covid, flu, and strep and everything was negative. Dr. Edgar Caro did absolutely nothing to help me. Basically told me that if I would have just waited another 2-3 days I would have felt better, and that I was going to the doctor for no reason. I tried explaining to him that this pain was unbearable and that it had been going on for a week now. He told me to just take some Tylenol and good luck. Even after he looked at my throat and even commented on how raw and painful it looked. He refused to prescribe antibiotics because he didn’t think it was necessary, however I woke up the next day in so much pain. I went to a different doctor and they confirmed my sinus infection and prescribed antibiotics. Now, a couple days later, I am starting to feel better. It definitely seemed like Dr. Edgar Caro either didn’t have a clue what he was talking about, or he’s just a lazy doctor and wanted to collect my money for nothing in return. Either way, it’s a dangerous way to practice medicine. Definitely will not be returning here.

A sudden onset of lower back pain is what brought me to this urgent care. I was in and out in 1.5 hours. The front desk staff was friendly. The doctor was patient and spent plenty of time listening. He took his time and throughly explained everything I needed to do even went as far as offering suggestions of some physical therapy videos to try until I could get seen by my primary doctor and get referral to a PT. He also came back in with my discharge papers and went over everything a second time with me. I was very impressed with the care I received from this urgent care.
