There are several reasons I'm rating this hotel particularly low, and I should note that none of them have to do with the staff, who have been lovely and kind. - The walls between the rooms, particularly those with walkthrough doors, are paper thin. I could hear the TV, shouting, music, etc. from the room next to mine all the time. - This is more of a Hilton policy failure, but when I asked for housekeeping it never came. To be fair, I didn't really follow up once I saw my room hadn't been cleaned as asked - I was kind of like, what's the point? This isn't the first time this has happened to me at a Hilton either, so I think whatever system they have of noting someone wants a room cleaned is not working. - This is another Hilton failure, but not a single one of their TV's are able to stream or cast. You're stuck watching whatever is on cable like its 1999. - This is the worst part, but there was a roach in my bathtub. I mean I'm not an entomologist or anything and I didn't stick around to look at it long, but still, there was a big shiny brown bug in my bathtub, which was awful. - Others have mentioned, but yes, the furniture is in need up an upgrade. The carpets too. The good things, as others have noted, are the nice people who work here and the breakfast, which is pretty decent.

This facility, while a bit dated, goes above and beyond to compensate! The staff is extremely friendly and hospitable. Housekeeping was also great. Not a day went by without some sort of attention to our room. Adding the recent pet friendly policy just enhanced our stay and the available breakfast was also an added bonus. I would highly recommend this hotel if you don’t mind a slight “tired” appearance.

The staff was nice and friendly. The rooms were clean, but needed some upgrades. In this electric world, our room only had a couple outlets to charge devices. One was under the headboard, right in the middle. Which you had to move the bed to get to.

STAFF - The entire team did an overall phenomenal job. Very friendly and courteous. There were no issues checking in or out. As it was a tough week for me due to my dad passing away, Kelly, Lisa, Monique, Ashley C., Ashley P., Angela, Brian, Roshell and the others did a great job to ensure my stay was as pleasant as possible. (Thank you for the card) Please commend them on a job well done. ROOM - The room was clean, and there was no musty, mildew odor which was great. The room was also very quiet as it was on the first floor. The fridge and microwave were clean, and everything worked fine, from the alarm clock to the TV and lights. There was extra toilet paper and plenty of towels to use. Housekeeping did a great job! HALLWAYS / ELEVATOR - The hallway on the first floor leading to my room was very clean. FOOD - The breakfast was great. The omelets and bacon were really good. The coffee was hot and there was plenty of French vanilla creamer and sugar available. Cold milk was plentiful as well. HOTEL LOBBY AND EATING AREA - The lobby and eating area were very clean and organized. The TV had the news on and was nice to watch while eating breakfast. Overall, it felt like a relaxing atmosphere. Overall, my first stay here was great. While the hotel is fairly old and could be updated and improved, the friendliness of the staff made up for it. Thank you for everything the team does to make the hotel such a great experience. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to New Bern. Thank you!
