Great spot to dump waste if you’d prefer to avoid driving up to the dump in the foothills - staff is awesome.

If you are like me, and never been to a transfer station, and are wondering how this all works, then read on: You drive up to the entrance (which is large enough for semi trucks, I used a U-Haul to toss old carpet). They eyeball your load and charge you $20 per cubic yard. It was $80 for me to toss 1500sqft of carpet. The staff then directs you to the transfer building. It is a large warehouse like building. Steel walls and concrete floors, with three large bay doors (again big enough for semi's) The staff assists you in backing in to the building. From there, you simply toss your refuse straight on the concrete floor. I was able to drag carpet right out of the back of the U-Haul. Once you are done, you simply drive away! After you go, they use a very large tractor to scoop up your refuse and stack it into piles. The whole process was quick and simple.
