The air is thin but well worth this off beat adventure. The roads were windy and tight in spots, watch those oil pans. Our rented 2021 crv made it without complaining and never even rubbed. There is a ~bathroom at the base of the tower but your trash needs to be packed out with you.

Seen someone with a 350z when I was up there..
I visited last summer, although the lookout was closed to visitors when i arrived. There is a road (track) all the way to the top so you only have to walk the last part which is not far and won't be a problem for your child. If you choose to park your car further away and walk you can either follow the road (track) or there may be a hiking trail
