I took my fourth grade class here last year and they were amazing to work with!! We had an absolute blast. I’m hoping to bring this year’s class as well.

We stopped off at The Museum of the Rockies during our epic road trip across Wisconsin, Minnesota, the Dakotas, and Montana. While I'd been many times while a student at MSU, my wife had never been and I really wanted to share the place with her. That said, my memories of the museum were a bit over-glorified. At $18 USD a pop, we were both pretty underwhelmed. Especially compared with institutions we've visited together like the Royal BC Museum in Victoria where $5 CAD gets you a whole lot more. I'm not suggesting that you not visit this museum. For Montana, you won't do much better. Just don't expect too much, yeah?

You must stop and visit this museum. Every bit of it is educational and well prepared.

The museum itself it amazing. the Native American section is very comprehensive, but the rap music blaring at the end has nothing to do with the exhibit and really takes away from the experience.

Hello, it's Alicia from Museum of the Rockies. We have two, single child strollers available on a first come, first serve basis. They are provided free of charge. We hope you have a great visit.
During the summer they have a pop up food truck outside with some of the best burgers I've had this year!
No reservations aren't required. You may purchase tickets in advance.
You don't need to reserve tickets just show up. Usually it takes less than a minute.
This one is awesome!!! My grandson is totally infatuated with dinosaurs. They had bones from a herd of triceratops that blew me away. There were rooms and rooms of dinosaurs skeletons. There is also a museum at the university in Rapid City, SD that has archeologists that were awesome to talk to and although we have not been, we keep getting told about one in Wyoming that does camps for those interested in dinosaurs.
No, but many great spots close! Vending machine and snacking area downstairs..you can bring your own snacks in.
The museum is open year round from 9-5. Only closed on major holidays. Check their website for more details.
Thank you for the inquiry. The museum is open year-round from 9 am to 4 pm except for three days. We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, & New Years Day. I think it was the stagecoach and "paper house" exhibit.
My husband is related to him. I can see about him sending a message for him to maybe contact you?
This museum is great. Especially if you are interested in dinosaurs. My grandsons age 8 and 10 could not get enough.
Yes, the museum has great sushi.

Last time I was there, February 2019, it was $12/ticket and you were allowed to see all the exhibits and the ticket was good for two days. The quantity far out weighs the cost.

The staff would be happy to hold your luggage in their office behind the desk, just ask!
Yes, 10%
Not many options unless you rent a house but we have a decent bus system that can get you close and the bus is free!
I would give yourself 2 or 3 hours to have time to catch a planetarium show, and the live actor frontier homestead exhibit along with the awesome dinosaur exibits and the current history of the guitar exhibit. The planetarium is a very cool contrast to the other things and does not cost extra.
No they do not.
➡It does NOT cost extra to get into the Taylor Planetarium, just the normal entry... Just make sure that you get there for shows about 10 minutes early.
Yes, they are.
