Revived our 5 yr mower after it started stalling without warning in the middle of a job. Now runs like new. Toby is a one man shop, no frills, superior expertise on small engine repair. Make sure to give him a call to coordinate a drop off as he is very busy. Thanks Toby for doing a great job!

Sorry, I don't offer pick up. You would have to schedule time to drop it off. Please call to schedule.
I have no idea as I'm not a Salesman of Toro products or any snow blowers. I simply make them run. The paddle style small snow throwers do come in contact with any surface they are moving snow from and the paddles are black rubber so it does make sense that they could leave marks. The larger snow blowers do not make any rubber contact and have no rubber Parts at all. The augurs never touched the ground and the only piece that does touch the ground is a painted metal or sometimes plastic coated scraper on the bottom but there is no rubber in contact with that larger type of auger two stage snow blower.
I would suggest that you try calling because I'm not always able to see these messages or respond in a timely manner. Also there is a limit to the number of characters I can type. My call volume is extremely high now so there is a chance you will get voice mail and have to leave a message or try back in a different time. The mower volume will not slow down until the middle or end of September.
That model shows to have a Tecumseh 2-cycle engine. They are known to leak more than 4 cycle ones. Looks to be around a 2007 model but cant tell for sure without seeing your factory label. Warm temps often cause some leaking but it may just be a situation that the carburetor parts or even fuel lines are to the age that they cannot seal 100%. Most all of the snowblowers that come in are for no starts with clogged up carb jet passages and I clean them instead of replacing carbs or doing more extensive rebuilds to keep the prices down. If one is really dirty I will usually mention it to owner when they pick it up to let them know that increases the chance that they may have an very soon clog or leaking situation if any spec of dirt finds it way to a jet or holds the inlet seat seal open. I would start and run it with plenty of mixed gas in it for 10-15 mins and park in area it won't make a mess then if future leaking get to me so I can locate source. It could be old cracking fuel line.
It is!
Sorry, but I don't offer that type of service as I'm just a one-man local hometown Repair Service. I don't have any of the nice official-looking forms and itemized lists that you really need for an insurance claim. If you can try to find someone who offers on-site service maybe they could come out and give you an estimate all at once on their paperwork.
As before, I would need th complete model number to tell you much about it and at least the first three digits of the model number to even tell you what manufacturer made it for Sears. I have never seen a YTS3000 with a 46 inch deck and only a 17 horsepower engine. All the ones I have seen had a 19 or higher. Most yts3000 I have seen have had a 42 inch deck. The model number will tell us the exact configuration it was sold in and who manufactured it. It very well may have had an engine replacement as so many yts3000 came with a Kohler Courage 19 or 20 and there have been lots of failures and engine replacements on those. There is a high degree of likelihood that it is an auto hydrostatic transmission and has the k46. All you have to do is spend some time reading on the mower forms or do a search for k46 transmission and you will see comments echoing my concerns over use on non flat ground, pulling carts and such, and long-term durability. I do see them often with 10-13 yrs of use...
I would need to know the model number to see whether it's made by Husqvarna for MTD. I just need the first three digits of the model number to tell. 20 horsepower is more than likely an overhead valve single cylinder with one spark plug. That is my engine of preference on these mower but being a 46-inch cut it could be a twin engine with two spark plugs.the complete model number, not serial under the seat should tell us that information. It probably also has a hydrostatic or auto transmission and more than likely a k46. They are okay for flat ground with no Hills and if you're not going to pull any weight or carts and such. The k46 is entry level and durability is questionable unless you're on flat ground just mowing grass.
Sears Craftsman, especially the old green ones and the red ones right after are some of my favorite mowers.. Those were all made by ayp which is Husqvarna. There are some newer craftsmen's in the past 4 to 5 years that were made by MTD. These are about the same as Troy-Bilt since the same manufacturer. You can tell by the first three digits of the model number a 247 or 246 is MTD. A 917 is going to be the older more original Sears which is Husqvarna. Frankly, most mowers are about the same for each time period. The manufacturers didn't really make their own engines or Transmissions so the main components are shared among brands. Go ahead and give me a call if you have a particular listing you're looking at or model number so I can see exactly what parts are on it. But no, I wouldn't be afraid to buy old or new Sears Craftsman. The parts are going to be easily available well longer then you will have the mower in service.
I believe he does. Don't quote me on this, but I believe if you're in Beavercreek he offers free pick up/drop off. And other local cities it's a $25 charge. And if it's not free in Beavercreek then I believe it's the $25 fee.
I normally answer from 9am on and often until midnight or later. It is best to call for info as I don't always get emails and messages quickly. If you get voicemail on number that means it's either before 9 am or I'm on other call with another customer and can't switch over quickly enough or have equipment running and didn't hear the phone. Voicemails get transposed to text messages so I can return your call if I miss it.
I echo what Jason Blom said.
