If you need a day or two away from city life, the little cabins are perfect. A bed with a view and quiet! Although there are other cabins close by, the trees give you privacy. I was happy to see a radio with Bluetooth to hook up with my favorite tunes. All in all a good experience.

The cabins are so cute and could be relaxing BUT you are so close to your neighbors. There are clearly outlined rules on the website to follow: no tents, no outside music, quiet hours at 10, and in our area no cars....again these cabins are for relaxation. But you're so close to your neighbors that when they ignore the rules it ruins everything. They had 4 cars, 2 tents, loud music, and a lot of people. The management's only action was to text our neighbors and remind them of the rules. Which clearly stopped nothing. They cannot or will not enforce their own rules. If you want true relaxation - go somewhere else. Rent a different cabin with different management.

An experience that was peaceful, relaxing, and a great way to reset. The grounds and cabins are well maintained, cabins are stocked with common necessities of home and it is a comfortable place to relax, recharge and reconnect. The heating unit worked very well with the 20 degree weather that I encountered on a brisk spring morning. The area around the cabins are spaced enough for privacy and with the outside firepits that they clean for each visitor makes it an added feature for this enjoyable stay. As my first time stay, it was a very enjoyable experience and definitely looking to book again soon.

Hi Heidi! Thanks for reaching out. Your three dogs are welcome at Getaway. We charge a dog fee of $40 per booking that gives you bowls, treats, an outdoor lead, and waste bags for your pups.

The wildlife center is open on Saturdays and that was a good few hours. The walking trails will definitely amuse them and honestly with toddlers just walking the loop around the cabins will keep them happy. I brought art supplies and bubbles and my little was content for 3 nights. We also went hiking at a nearby state park one day as well.
No public swimming in the creek anywhere.
I have T Mobile on a Note 8 if that matters and no cell phone reception at all in the actual campgrounds, and very little in the surrounding parks as well but a bar or two might trickle in.
There were a number of people fishing at Beaver Creek State Park the day we visited for a hike when staying at a getaway cabin. Reference Gaston's Mill-Lock No. 36 for driving directions and public parking.
