The aide's think it's funny to speak spanish to the resident't in the Memory Care Unit. They know the resident's have Alzheimer's and can barely comminicate in English.

I worked at Heather heights about 7 years ago. The residents were sweet enough and I love them. Unfortunately the staff were mean and cruel! I experienced an unfortunate event I seen a resident get slapped in the back of his head I reported the incident to management not only did this particular person not get in trouble but I had to work with her and experience harassments from her friends there and herself. It took for another resident to be abused by this woman for her to be fired. I do hope the management has changed especially in the nursing supervisor she was terrible had her own click and she ran it like a high school. For the sake of all the residents there I do hope Heather heights has changed

Yes. Trips off-site with family members are encouraged. We simply ask that you check with your Nurses Station and take all appropriate medication with you for the length of time your loved one will be gone. Residents and guests are required to sign in and out at the reception desk.
You can visit your loved one at any time. If you’d like to visit between 9pm and 6am, while our doors are locked for the safety of our residents, simply call ahead and a manager will meet you upon your arrival.
Yes, our rooms are fully-furnished; however, we encourage residents to bring their own furniture and favorite belongings.
We offer scheduled transportation service for weekday doctor’s appointments free of charge.
Yes, residents have the choice of keeping their personal physician or being referred to the in- house or local physician.
Yes, our residence is licensed and inspected by the New York State Department of Health. Department of Health regulated Assisted Living residences provide assistance with all activities of daily living, including three meals per day; personal care services such as bathing, dressing, and grooming; medication management; recreational programming; transportation to appointments; 24-hour supervision for any emergencies or care needs. Although not required by the Department of Health, Heather Heights has Licensed Professional Nurses on-site 24/7.
