Santiam Flats Campground is a little noisier than I'd like being that it's right next to Hwy 22. The current at the river nearby is too swift for swimming, so we used nearby Hoover Campsite's Day Use area. Campsites are decent size. Faucets are pretty far away if you're staying near the entrance. Campground managers were attentive and monitored the campground well.

It's always a great experience to camp here. Reserve way in advance for the summer season. The staff there are all really excellent.

What a wonderful place to be! Much cheaper than the other campgrounds in the area and the hosts are friendly and helpful. The restrooms are cleaned three times a day!

There is a place to park extra vehicles, but they will charge you. I think $ 5.oo per night. I saw several campsites that had multiple tents set up on them. I was there less than a month ago. They where catching alot of fish there also.
We were able to have a fire all the time we were there 8-9 thru 8-12

I believe it's about April for fishing season. But that is only a guess.
Yeah, you can park by your own campsite. It's a good campground! Hope you can find a spot.
