Visited this place before and after the fire me and my family visit here alot so the day use area is a perfect place for a day trip that's what we do alot but this time in these pictures if you go into the city all the way down the road there will be another day use area with a great trail

We met up with our neighbor's family and friends. It's a lovely area full of walking paths.

To see what the fire's have done here is heart breaking. The place is starting to rebuild and trying to come back strong. The lake is dry! You can see where the water once was. Not sure if solely because of water drought or if it was purposely for repairs and building. There are some businesses open for business.

Wood is $5 bundle. Tent sites are considerable cheaper. Perfect place to spend quality time with your pup ♡ I'm very sorry to hear of your illness. May you find peace in your journey. Amen

The store at Kane's Marina burnt down where we usually bought ice when we would drive the boat over to the marina. But there are is a store in town that didn't burn down that sells ice in Detroit

On the lake you should be good. Other places it can change within 100 feet. Just move around a bit.
The only first come first serve sites are the handicap sites if they are not booked or someone who needs them does not show up to use them. It is one of the most sought after campsites on the coast due to its small size and a great beach Campfires are dependant on local fire bans. The water is fine. Check the site or call for for prices. Any price discrepancy could be due to a recent price change or one site having an electrical hook-up.

There are several sites. you should be able to upgrade to a camper site; with a few $ difference. The camp ground saves sites for on the spot. Usually campers sites have room for a tent. If you have children/ friends throw in a tent lol. Have fun enjoy

They have been having bluegreen algae blooms which brings cyanotoxins. The water could be unsafe to swim in and definitely unsafe to drink. It can not be boiled clean so dont try. Salem has active warning against drinking the cities tap water as it gets its water from Detroit lake. 🙏🌲✌
It looks like the lake is full when I was there. I have no idea what it will be like this weekend.
They have banned camp fires due to the forest fires. Was very smoky two weeks ago. Even cigarettes can only be smoked in your vehicle or in a trailor n no candles were allowed.
I'm not for sure but it was still smokey on Monday Tuesday
The smoke is noticeable on the water, however, visibility on the campground is good. You'll likely only notice a slight haze throughout the park.
