So today literally about 30 minutes ago I stopped into the shelter just to speak to someone not even necessarily surrender and orphaned kitten to the shelter that I found in my grass last night. Without even being able to get 2 real sentences out the rude, condescending female front desk worker began arguing down the person who actually tried to assist me "WE CAN NOT ACCEPT KITTENS, CATS, NOTHING THE DIRECTOR SAID NO.." I then stated to her that I just needed to see their vetinarny, I will keep her if you can't take her I just need to talk to someone "OH OUR VET TECH ISNT IN". 😒 I just needed to know what to do to care for her until I figured something out because she is so young! Customer service is so bad right now everywhere but what kills me is how condescending people can be!! Like I'm sure NO ONE begged you to take this job and If you are this overwhelmed find a new career! I am frustrated after that encounter because I just want to make sure this little girl is healthy and will be safe. Honestly I wouldn't recommend, but I know not everyone is the same and I know that there are good folks there, I won't be going back there.

says it’s open 24 hours online but closed on sundays

Call animal control in whatever town or city you are in
do you put old suffering dogs to sleep if so what does it cost and fo you do ot on saturday
Yes! Look for green cards on the kennels, those are the ones that are eligible for adoption! Good luck!
Yes, they hold surrendered dogs for a couple of days in case family changes its mind
Yes she house broken. She like alot attention. My wife do not like shedding hair and she needs bigger space.
That's a good question. I wish I could help but I'm not entirely sure. But ya never know, they may help you out. ☺
I would call the shelter and ask.
They could use both! They always need towels and blankets! Those are 2 of the most highly sought after items by them, other than cat\dog food!
We have plenty! You should come down to the shelter, fill out an adoption application and meet some😉
How much to get my dog back
Like to see the dog and why is
No u can just walk in
Call animal control the will have it picked up. Unfortunately they are very busy but will get you correct information. They helped us when our dog passed away. Hope this helps you.
Yes just posted to your site
Contact Hamburg Mutts for Freedom dog rescue. Sadly, the shelter is packed and we can try to find a foster home while she waits to find her forever home.
The animal.shelter has plenty of animals you can adopt. Just look on there website and check the qualifications
They did have dogs, not sure about puppies.
This is the city dog shelter not spca .
Just call them
https://www.petfinder.com/search/pets-for-adoption/?shelter_id%5B0%5D=NY341&sort%5B0%5D=recently_added
Yes we paid 60 for our cat but he was already fixed when he got there. It's more if they have to be fixed.
Yes i had to pay 98.00 to adopt also i had to pay for neutering and medicine and stuff..all together i paid 400.00
They now take you in based on why you are there.
You don't call 911 for a rabbit or racoon they suppost to be free
Both have cats, as for young bonded...you would have to visit on site.
The shelter sometimes has declawed cats available for adoption that have arrived that way. Shelters and rescues don't advocate declawing so it isn't a service they would provide but may have declawed cats available for adoption that have been surrendered or otherwise arrived without their claws. It also became illegal to perform declawing in NYS in July 2019.
Go on Facebook there's a page called 10th chance rescue they rescue Ferall's they'll help you set traps and get the cats for free I don't think sPCA will do much
72 hours for lost dogs and its business days so if a dog came in on Saturday, Sunday would not count because we are closed. Thursday morning the dog would then be considered property of the shelter and assessed for adoption. Only dogs deemed unsafe with other dogs or people are euthanized for public safety.
Strays are held for at least 3 full business days before being assessed for adoption. If your dog is lost, it is best to check in person at least every other day.
We do not take anything but dogs or cats. The SPCA takes Guinea pigs but you have to call first and bring the animal to them.
Honestly...it's all about training YOU. Once you learn how to train your dog, the rest is a piece of cake. It's all about being the alpha dog (that's you) grab a book or 2... Or come to the Shelter and ask any volunteer for advice..our goal is to make the best life possible for you and your dog!
They are same thing
Call 851-5095 or call the police and report it
$20 as long as u live in the city
We are not a veterinarian's office. Check out the West Side Pet Clinic on Niagara Street. They have the most reasonable shot packages in Town.
Its best to take to SPCA or find someone close to you & knows something about your birds to take them. Or another thought is to see if a Senior Citizen center would be interested in taking them or maybe a daycare center.
No
No, not for the public. Dog control may be on to pick up stray dogs
Im not sure if they will come pick up the dog. But no, you do not get paid for giving them your dog.
They have an area to meet and play with the dogs outside. I am sure you could walk with a volunteer.
Cats wont be euthanized unless they're sick or for humane reasons
I don't know. I adopted a two year old. I know I habe spent approximately 800 dollars in vet costs for neutering, medical and grooming. However. I antcipated there would be additional costs because of his fragile appearance The vet hospital they contract with is great and provides a 20% break on all vet visits. It is well worth it. Don't let your pet go in for neutering without a blood workup and fluids during surgery. It is an option, but it is important.
Ur best bet is to surrender them to the spca. The city shelter only accepts dogs n cats
I had a great experience. The shelter has very little money. I took a dog who was there 12 weeks too long. Considering the lack of funding, great volunteers and great experience.
Call 311. Theyll have the cities wildlife department set up humane traps
Hi! I don't believe they accept small animals, however the Erie County SPCA would take a guinea pig. Yes, I do believe the City of Buffalo is a no-kill shelter!
No I dont. But there is a volunteer program.
No. Our shelter is only dogs and cats. The Erie county spca accepts and adopts out other animals like Guinea pigs.
No but the West Side Pet clinic on Niagara street in Buffalo offers very affordable vaccinations.
When I went there I didn't see too many small dogs. They have an abundance of pitbulls, which worked out great for me, being that's what I was looking for. However, you have to go visit because dogs come in daily.
You can visit the shelter itself to find the one that fits you best or look at their petfinder page to look at off site options. I believe the fee for cats is 110 dollars the cat will have age appropriate vaccines microchip and spay/neuter.
Have you considered consulting a professional trainer?
The adoption fee is about $200 and includes the dog being fixed, up to date on shots, microchip, first vet visit and a bag of dog food.
She can come here
Only dogs are picked up by Dog Control Officers. Cats have to be brought to the shelter.
As in like vet checks no...but if a dog needs help u can call the ACO...Thank u hope this helps
I'm interested in a pit bull for my daughter
There is a 3 day stray hold....if ur fur baby is there please bring proof that it is urs...
You should call ahead and make sure they are accepting dogs. You also must be a Buffalo resident. There is also a surrender fee. Not sure of the amount per dog.
The City Shelter only picks up dogs. You would have to bring the cat to 380 oak street but you may want to call ahead to make sure they have available cage space. Thank you for feeding the cat. Your neighbor sucks.
Call the buffalo police or the mayors hot line 311. Hard to press charges without physical proof
Yes a bunch of really great ones available for adoption now!
Cats are $110. DOG'S are about $190. Adoption fees include microchip, spay/neuter and all age appropriate vaccinations.
If you live in the city just bring the cat in it's a $15 or $20 surrender fee. They won't accept it if ur outside the city
To adopt under 200 for dogs
Cats can go home the same day. Dogs would be scheduled for spay/neuter the surgery on the next business day and you would pick them up from the vet's office around the corner from the shelter by 6pm
The price can vary from dog to dog....depending on age or some are sponsored...the best thing to do is stop on down and see if u find one ur interested in then go from there
You have to fill out an application. They are available at the shelter....
How is a kitten and dog and how much it cost to adopt
Take to ten lives or tabby town
