I’ve always wanted to visit here and I did today and it did not disappoint. My husband and I made pumpkins and explored the museum. It was so much fun and the glass exhibits are amazing!
Linda Bookhardt
Second time to Corning. Love stopping here as the museum cannot be seen in just one day. Always pick up a glass piece or two to share with friends/family. A must see!
Raul Robles
If you like glass and everything that can be made with it, this is your perfect place, museum and sale of items made of glass.
Irene Ng
It isn't just about Corelle and Pyrex. Loved learning about the history of glass dating back to Mesopotamia, and especially loved making my own fired glass and blown ornament.

Museum Admission tickets are $20 per adult and are valid for two consecutive days. Kids and teens 17 & under are always free. We offer additional discounts for local residents, AAA members, Military, College and those 62 and older. Thank you for your inquiry. We look for to welcoming you to The Corning Museum of Glass!
All day long though time for shows are at regular intervals .
Yep. And seriously, folks, it's a glass museum...they sell amazing things.
Hi Michael! We see kids of all ages at the Museum! Kids and Teens 17 and Under receive free admission. As well, if your child can follow directions and blow out a birthday candle, they can make their own blown glass ornament or sculpture for additional fee. Our Make Your Own Glass program is a truly atypical Museum experience that will leave you with a unique, handmade souvenir and fun memories from your visit. All blown projects are made with the help of an experienced glassmaker. You can reserve your appointment online: https://www.cmog.org/visit/make-your-own-glass
About $19.50 for adults, college students and AAA members $16.50, children 17 and under Free. Senior discount is available too not sure how much it is (as of oct 7 2017). Admission is valid for 2 consecutive days
My husband and I took our 14yr old grand daughter there on this past Thursday. We booked reservations online, and yes you can book glass blowing appts online after 3pm. Spots do fill up fast, but paying online made the whole process easier. When we went to the visitor center, we saw there were still several open slots for the same day. They have a computerized display board that is in real time with the slots available each type of glass making for each appt time available. I hope this helped answer your question. Check out the website ahead of time and look over the FAQ's it is easy to use and very informative. Have a blast with glass!
There is a main parking lot right off I86, if you pull in the lot and go right there are pull-through spaces big enough. Then you can take the shuttle to the museum or walk a short distance.
It all depends. If you're just looking at the collections, you could probably do it in 4-5 hours. If you plan to catch a couple of demonstrations and do the make your own glass, I would allot for more time. Especially if you want something from the gift shop to take with you. Museum tickets (remember to buy in advance on their website) are good for 2 consecutive days, so there is that to keep in mind as well.
You can but there are only a couple options including sandblasting and fusing and sadly that's all, but its still a great thing to do and go to the different shows they will thoroughly enjoy that, Hope that helped
Honestly, it can be done quickly (1-3 hrs) if you glaze over it. But if you jump into everything they have to offer and try to get to everything, it will be an all day affair. Their guided tours are about an hour. Schedule: https://www.cmog.org/visit/calendar?date=10-02-2019
Yes, they make animal, reptiles, artefacts, all kinds of things you can imagine... I have seen spiders, turtles, fish, human figurines..butterflies, frogs, starfish.....limited only by imagination
I'm pretty sure you can
yes, they do have.
Lots of parking. Should be no problems.
Hi Cheryl! From Labor Day until May 23, the Museum is open 9 am – 5 pm. We have extended summer hours from May 24 to September 3 when we are open until 8PM, and we are closed only four days a year: January 1, Thanksgiving Day, December 24, December 25.
Hi Linda! The Museum does offer discounts to veterans and their families. As a participant in the Blue Star Program, the Museum offers free admission to all active military personnel and their families from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. As well, The Museum offers a 15% discount to all military all year long. During the month of November, the Museum celebrates Veterans with free admission to all military veterans. All others in the veteran's party enjoy 15% off admission. As always, Museum admission is valid for two consecutive days.
Absolutely, as long as you are within operational hours you should be fine. Prepare to go for 2-3 hours. Afterwards becomes the same.
I don’t really think so..they are more or less work there on time based
Yes you can. You have to pay nothing.
It's a model number. Kind of like telling you the pattern. Think of a car vin.

Yes, you should be able to. There's a main entrance that leads directly to the store and is accessible from the road and not from the parking lot that faces the catwalks. You can also call and ask or let one of the guides know you are going to the store and they should be able to guide you.
Elmira is the closest. Rochester may have the most options, but is an hour and 30 drive away.
No, we are not!

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the make your own glass project that we offered that correlated to our Journey to the Moon exhibit. At this time, we are not offering the moon mold blown ornaments. We will continue to offer our traditional MYOG ornament projects at the Studio.
Edited I went two weekends ago. Online now, and if you want to do any of the activities like sandblasting or glass blowing then you should hop on the computer and schedule and purchase that now. Those spaces seem to fill up quick.

Hi Susan, thank you for your interest in visiting the Corning Museum of Glass! Service animals are more than welcome in the Museum. However, we do not allow pets.
Hi Brenda, thank you for your interest in returning to visit the Corning Museum of Glass! To answer your question, in 1989, we had a Special Exhibition on display: Dining at the White House: two centuries of Presidential tableware – I believe this is the exhibition you are referring to. Unfortunately, as it was a special exhibition, it is no longer on display. We do have one smaller display case that features a selection of Presidential Glassware in the American Glass section of our 35 Centuries of Glass gallery space. We have added many new pieces and have opened new gallery spaces since your last visit, so there will be a lot of new things for you to see when you visit. We hope to see you soon!

He has 2 venues, one big and one small, and will start regularly, but the specific time is clear, I want to believe about one hour, and I will participate in a prize draw!
You can buy tickets at the window. No need of appointment.
I understand that ..my question is we were given a discount of AAA card on adults ticket price ...but 2 seniors were with us ..is it AAA discount should be applied on senior ticket price???
By any chance can you let me know the price for own glass making ?? It's easy to recommend my cousin s as already recommended the museum to my friends and cousins ..
Sorry if you’re having trouble using cmog.org on your phone or other mobile device. We’re aware that our current site is not a great experience for mobile users. We’re working on some changes that should help with that. Stay tuned.
No matter the cost, it's some of the best money you will ever spend!
Glass blowing stuff is extra. Gift shop items range from inexpensive to quite expensive.
Yes you can spend some time doing it. Workshops are about 30-40min long if u choose to do one. Museum can be done in an hour if you don't stop and check everything out. Count another 30min for the gift shop. Ball park low probably 2-3h. Taking ur time and grabbing a bit to eat could add another 2h on top.
there is not much is pure Asian food and pizza in buffalo, it is better to bring some things to eat is expensive
While we certainly see more visitors during the summer and on the weekends, since our expansion in 2015 the Museum itself never gets overcrowded. We encourage visitors to explore our large campus that includes our extensive galleries, the Innovation Center, The Studio which houses our Make Your Own Glass program, The Shops, and the largest library dedicated to glassmaking.
Hi Samantha! The Museum does offer gift cards for purchase. The value assigned to gift cards may be used for Museum admission, for food purchases at the Museum's Café or Café Express, or for shopping in the Museum Shops. You can purchase gift cards for the Museum in-person and online through our Shops: shops.cmog.org
They have making programs .cost is littel high i think.
As you enter the museum - there'll be ushers to guide you. Cannot miss.
If they are made of glass, very possible!!
That would depend on what you're doing. If you're just cutting a design on a piece then most likely you will take it home. If it's hot work then no or if you take a Stained Glass course there would be pieces you could take home with you
Take a tour from taketours.com - it will easier way for you to visit this place 😉
No admission fee to the shop.
All different areas of the parking lots. By the tram pick up are a number of spots as well
Less than a week
Hi Ronald! The other answers are correct in that we both offer discounts for seniors and groups. To help figure what may be the best discount for you, we do need more information. Contact us through calling our Customer Service number, explain to the associate you are looking for more information on group admission rates, and they should be able to put you in touch with our Tour Sales and Reservations Coordinator. We are looking forward to seeing you soon!

I've always found that no appointment is necessary, unless you are bringing a large group.
Depends on the project. If it was an ornament, it has to cool for 24 to 36 hours. If you live out of town, they will ship your project to you for a fee.

Sorry, not familiar with that.
The museum has a large store but I don't know if they have this item

They won't make one for you, but you can buy and make one. Kids can submit a drawing of what they want them to make and there drawing could be chosen.

Hi Ana! There is photography allowed in the Museum, but no flash. There are some objects that you are not permitted to photograph, but those pieces are labeled so you'll know. Keep in mind that selfie sticks and tripods are not permitted in our galleries. You're sure to get some great shots of beautiful art spanning 35 centuries. Maybe even some great pictures of you making a glass ornament in our Make Your Own Glass Studio!
