Dr. Taormina, the nurses and staff at Midwest GI were very professional and attentive. Everyone took time to explain their purpose and goal when taking care of me. The procedure was smooth and flawless.

Questions & Answers

What is the procedure for gall stones?

Gallstones are common and may not cause any symptoms. Gallstones sometimes lead to inflammation and can use abdominal pain, predominantly in the right upper abdomen. If gallstones move, jaundice or pancreatitis may occur. The standard treatment for symptomatic gallstones is removal of the gallbladder, usually by laparoscopic means. Outpatient surgical removal is the standard of care today. Oral medications have been used in rare cases to dissolve non calcified gallstones but long term treatment is required and recurrence is common. Marc Taormina, MD

I think he is great, he's treated my Crohn's aggressively to get it under control and I'm thankful for that.
