If you need imaging with any urgency, do yourself a favor and just go through UCLA. I've been here 4 times for x-rays and MRI -- each time was excessively confusing with long waits for appointments. They were unorganized to the extent that I was having to do the leg work to make it all happen (following up daily to check in about progress, obtaining authorizations numbers, calling insurance, etc.). UCLA got all of my insurance auth/referrals/scheduling done in 24 hours with MRI scheduled in a week. This being said -- if you're not in a rush and don't mind the extra work -- the people working were nice enough. Thus the 2 star.

I've been to Grossmans in the past for MRIs in the past and never had any problems. A few months ago I came here for an epidural. I checked in when I was supposed to, had already filled out paperwork. But then proceeded to sit there waiting, waiting, waiting, trying not to fall asleep. My name is finally called and I'm escorted into a room. I sit down and they asked me a few questions. Then I was given a pair of those disposable shorts and a gown and told to come to the next room when I was ready. So I walk into the next room and told to lie face down on the table. I asked for a pillow because I'm not able to lay flat with my neck. As I was trying to get them pillow situated for comfort my gown fell forward. Now I'm sure these techs have seen it all, but that didn't help my embarrassment at the time. I hurriedly tried to get me self settled. Then they told me each thing they were going to do just before they did it. It went fast and I was told to go get dressed and they would call me ride. My question is what happened to having another female present in the room during procedures? Do they know the kind of liability they are dealing with by not making sure that 1. The patient makes it to a seat in the lobby without falling or anything else, and 2. Making sure that their ride did come and get them or they didn't just walk out and get into their car and drive themselves home? I truly feel that you could benefit from seeing how Channel Islands Surgery Center takes care of their patients. They really show they care about them and are there to make their visit as pleasant as possible.
