George does a lot of land work on a surfboard carpet to prepare you for the water. This really helped. He really knows his stuff about surfing and really stuck with us - both myself and the other student did successfully stand a couple times. Surfing is really hard for an older person (me) so need persistence. My only nit was that when I called, George priced me for an individual lesson. Didn't know there was another student until got there. And, he didn't adjust to semi-private rate. Also, if go to Jetty Park, there's a charge to enter - $15 for outside county. Overall, George was really helpful. The lesson was supposed to be 2 hours but lasted closer to 3 hours until we both were able to ride a couple waves standing.
