We booked in an effort to evacuate from Hurricane Ian as our home is in the Tampa Bay area. Stephanie was amazing at getting our reservation booked quickly in a king suite overlooking the Atlantic. We are a family of four (two adults and two kids) and brought our two dogs as well. The drive there was a hassle, since like us, it seemed lots were evacuating and what would normally be a trip that took under 4 hours became a trip that took nearly 7 hours. It was wonderful to arrive and see that the resort is small and charming making it very homey. It made us instantly feel relaxed. If you’re looking for a resort that has that vintage southern charm kinda vibe - definitely book here! Our view overlooking the ocean was amazing - it felt like we were IN the water we were that close. I’m only sad that our time there was spent with mostly overcast or rainy/windy conditions. I seriously have nothing to complain about our trip - the only negative experience we had was when the wind pushed some driving rain under the door into our room, but the staff promptly brought extra towels, a mop, and helped us to keep things dry. If they could’ve figured out a way to control the weather, I bet they would’ve. The staff are SO friendly, accommodating, and ready to assist in any way that they can. The resort, even though it’s aged, was SPOTLESS. The bed was like sleeping in a hug. We cannot wait to go back and truly enjoy it without a hurricane chasing us down. 😊

We tried to book this hotel as checked and were pleased with many great reviews and very compatible prices. But during the booking, I wrote to the hotel to check details about taking my cat (as they declare it to be a pet-friendly hotel) I was told that they don't accept cats! It's not stated in their policy and Q&A though. Not sure for what reason, but it seems they discriminate cats, or people who own cats, but not dogs. I tried to ask them to explain why and where could I find this info in the policy, but as a reply got some spam about COVID and hurricane additional insurance as it was sent by bot and doesn't relate to the topic at all. First time with me, when the hotel states to be pet friendly, but somehow very selectively. Very disappointing experience at the start.
