Literally their talent is uploading a photo and writing a small description of an item. For that they help themselves to a large sellers fee; they help themselves to a large buyers fee; and then have the nerve to reap huge profits off shipping costs. Thousands if dollars to do nothing. I had it out with them over their ridiculous shipping practices and costs and in turn they insulted me by saying “now you know how it’s done” and how it was a “courtesy” for them to charge $160 to ship an item that maybe costs $20 to ship. Also they told me it would not be abnormal at all for me to travel to nyc to get the item to save money on shipping. These people are terrible. Why does anyone consign items with them?

Horrific company to deal with. Not only is their website an absolute disaster, but every single step after winning an auction is a nightmare. I won an auction they give me an invoice to pay. I pay it immediately, but apparently they weren't able to copy my address off my account info correctly so they messed up the sales tax. They then tell me I have to pay even more money and I can't just pay it off their website I have to call and give some person my credit card info. After that they give me my shipping quote which is an absolute joke $300 dollars to ship something domestically. I ship this item all the time and it would never cost anything more than $15 at USPS. At every point they try to take as much money from you as humanly possible. Their auction fee of 27.5% is higher than any competitor, then their shipping rates are absolute jokes. Their customer service is also equally bad. They also have no issues trying to defraud you about the items they sell. You have to be able to authenticate the item yourself because they won't put in the effort to do so.

I trust Bonham's to always deliver a wide range of extraordinary objects. As a bidder and a seller, this is one of my favorite places to keep my eye on. Natalie in the American offices of the Photograph department is particularly kind and helpful.
