The hike is great. Usually pretty popular, and not a lot of parking. You'll need something other than a discover pass to be in the park. THE SUSPENSION BRIDGE HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR 2 YEARS. I understand the budget might not be there to fix it, but for such an iconic structure to be broken this long and still out of commission is awful. Nevertheless, the hike remains geologically interesting.

The trail is an easy out-and-back to a waterfall and viewpoint. Unfortunately the suspension bridge is out, so the loop is incomplete. I wouldn't have done the loop anyways because our kids were with us. After the falls there is a very narrow, steep, scree covered trail that runs along side a cliff to one side and drop off on the other, down to the second bridge (that's out). It definitely didn't feel safe for kids or the faint of heart. Plenty of signs warning of fatalities and I believe them.

Awesome, well-known hike on the south side of Mount Saint Helens but it takes a while to get to it but always worth it. Parking lot can get busy considering how far away from anything else it is. Has a pit toilet on site and a nice hike as …

We had reservations for Ape Caves and had time to kill, decided to do this hike. I am so glad we did, beautiful!! The sign said it was a loop, but the suspension bridge was out of order, it was in and back. Pretty sure I wouldn’t of crossed it anyway. First part of the hike is easy, last half was very hard.

Yes you can snow shoe past the gate to the parking lot and walk it, but it will be challanging.
Um...Pretty positive: www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/giffordpinchot/recarea/?recid=41610
Idk about campsites, Google it. Contact with the water is not allowed.
The trail is open, the hike will depend on which one you choose. The regular hike is about 30 minutes, the longer trail is over an hour.
According to the USDA, both are open.
There's an upper parking lot that is accessible in spring/summer. Not sure about winter with snow. There is an ADA accessible trail to the main lookout of the hike.

It's still closed. Not sure when it will open.
You should check with the forest authorities. The season start depends on weather conditions.
Check the us Forest service website. Usually by June.
Muddy River is the name.
