I love going to this lake. It is super peaceful. However, I'm only giving this 2 stars because of a few reasons. 1. The roads and paved areas are terrible! 2. We started out in Nunda Shoal campground and the host was giving us every excuse to not camp there in the Ada spot. We are Ada, so not a lot of places to go, and then, the host literally walked away from us while we were talking to him. On the way out, he was at another campsite working on someone's pickup. This is NOT ok. We ended up in Homestead campground and that was a lot better.

Nice place, very good beach. Restroom is a pit toilet, but it's there. Great boat ramps.

Five star if you have a fishing boat. If you are into hiking, this likely is not the park for you. There is a short 1.06 mile nature trail that circles one of the campgrounds which offers great views of the lake and surrounding hills. …

Stayed at Nunda Shoal campground and it was nice and spacious! Mostly shady spots. Beautiful reservoir. Nice boat launch areas. Careful with your furry friends, there are lots of cacti! OUCh!!! …

Calamus Outfitters has cabins to rent and then several people in town have nightly lodging in different houses
If you are a veteran and over 65, you can get a lifetime permit for $5
Yes. On a 6ft leash
Check out the Lodge by the golf course, they have hotel rooms right next to the rv park.
Contact the ranger office out there,or go online at outdoor nebr.org and look up reservations.
South east of the Nunda Schoal boat ramp are buoys across the lake. The area north and east of those are - 5mph. Part of the reason is that the trees start to show themselves as the lake drops, like this time of the year. They could be pretty hazardous to jet skiers and tubers when they're just under the surface.
I think its 15 a night. However if you get a powered site you have to pay full rate for it tent or camper
There are lots of campsites, but I don't know personally if there are any primitive ones that don't charge for electric or water hookups.
Another option if planning ahead & have a reserved campsite or an open 1 on hold by someone is to rent a camper from Sandhills Service. Their fee is like a hotel but they set up & take down, have all systems "go" like toilet, sink, fresh water. You do need to bring food, linens, etc. My friends & relatives have found this avenue fun & a great experience!
Last I heard was still very high, can let you know, we have property almost across Nunda and go to those beaches also, and are headed up this week.
Don't know if Burwell has fireworks but if staying at Calamus should be far enough away
If you have a park permit you could stay a few hours just not an over night. It's only like $7 for a primitive site for the night if I remember correctly
Not sure, I think it was in the 70s.
