No restroom, no business. If you don’t like people using your restroom then don’t expect me to make this a regular stop

Stopped by in October 2018 after my friend and I were out hiking and got caught in an unanticipated blizzard. We were freezing cold and soaked, and the store owner was adamant that he would not accept any payment for two cups of hot chocolate. That small act of kindness has stayed with both of us. Worth stopping by - whether for a room, or for a snack!

We got the cabin that was closest to the mountain. it was so quaint and cute with an old fashioned wood stove top and farmer sink. There was a moose feeding on a bush 10 feet from our back window! The downside was that with that cabin you have to go to the Outhouse to go to the bathroom. They have other cabins that are more modern with a shower and toilet right in the cabin.

The Trading Post is a well run, family friendly location in the Colorado Rockies, and a great place to enjoy life along the Cache la Poudre River. It is not a fancy resort, but it has everything you will need. The Trading Post is over 35 miles West of the recent forest fire area close to Ft. Collins. In addition to the river, the Trading Post is only a few miles from Chambers Lake, and several other lakes brimming with trout.

Do the cabins have access to the river?

The river is across the street from the cabins. We walked over to it, but the flow was so fast, I wouldn't chance getting in.
