A Cadillac facade outside, rock and roll pictures adorning the walls, Tim McGraw overhead, and a mechanical bull on center stage, Cadillac Ranch had all the makings of my kind of joint, even if it was in a mall; and it did not disappoint. Backing up a decade and some years ago, I found myself in New York City. I bellied up to a bar and ordered the city’s namesake drink; a Manhattan; and for this bourbon-loving girl, it was a piece of heaven. Simple, decadent, savory, and delivered in a glass with a stem and garnish. I felt fancy, sophisticated, and grown-up as if I had arrived–not only in New York City but, to adulthood. That drink taught me a lot about myself and about life. I have since searched for a great Manhattan, and have found myself continually dropping the bar from great to good to decent.  And when I find that elusive beverage, I want to share the good news. So, thank you to Paul, the bartender, who perfectly mixed my three Manhattans, and provided a fantastic afternoon for us at Cadillac Ranch. I ate food as well, but, let’s be honest–after three Manhattans, who can remember what I ate.

Was a good time. Had blood orange old fashion, and wife had the bloody Mary - both very tasty. For entrees, I had the 1/2 pound of buffalo wings (which was 4 wings), and my wife had the Cobb salad, she really enjoyed it!

Every time we go to Mall of America it seems we end up here. Its always so good and they have a nice selection of food and beverage at a fair price. We love the the rock star memorabilia throughout the place and it is always relaxing.

Most of the food I tried wasn’t great so I dont have high expectations for this place. Previously, Ive tried the spicy shrimp tacos and hated them. Couldn’t even finish three of them. Their french fries and cheeseburger are below average. They brought my beer after I was done eating even though I ordered when I got my food. I did however really enjoy the Black & Bleu Salmon Salad! It was a great healthy addition to the menu and the reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 0. Service was 2/10. Waitress was all over the place. We waited 25 minutes for a salad and burger which is nuts for a restaurant like this. They were one of the most empty spots at the mall. Other places had a half hour wait while Cadillac Ranch was half empty on a Sunday. Overall, after my meal and the expensive check, I regretted not going to Chipotle.
