My wife works as an ultra sound tech at Portsmouth Hospital. Since the arrival of the Delta variant, breakthrough and non-vaccinated cases among the staff have been on the rise. When a staff member tests positive, quarantine periods are strictly enforced. Scheduling changes to make up for staffing shortages are made on a moments notice. Within 24 hours of making our reservation at Loon Lodge my wife's work schedule changed. With her new shifts, our only option for an overnight stay was Sunday night. So we called the Lodge and asked to change our reservation dates. They told us a Sunday overnight was not possible. Rather than refunding our room fee they charged us because we were inside their two week cancellation deadline. MY WIFE IS 67, SHE HAS WORKED IN A HOSPITAL THROUGHOUT THE PANDEMIC . SHE REGULARLY COMES IN CONTACT WITH COVID PATIENTS. I'M OUTRAGED BY LOON LODGES CALLOUS RESPONSE TO OUR PREDICAMENT.Loon Lodge has a take the money and run attitude, no compassion for those in the front lines. David & Jeanne Reece, Kennebunk ME
