I tried to stay here but no one was at the desk on a Monday afternoon to check in for at least an hour. I had reservations. When I arrived to check in one guest who was checking out had been waiting for 1/2 hour for someone to show up so he could get a printed receipt he needed for his company. He finally had to just leave. I then stood there for over 30 min myself. We tried calling the number they put on the desk multiple times. I had heard this was a problem from my brother when he arrived to check in around 2 in the morning after driving from Minneapolis. He had reservations too. While I was waiting, 3 guests came by and told me they can never find anyone to help. After waiting all this time, I checked and discovered I had 3 minutes to spare before my cancellation deadline for a full refund. I did and then booked at the Best Western down the street They were $20 more, but at least I could check in.

Dirty, nasty smelling place. Stood outside for an hour before the clerk finally came and then refused my reservation because I was upset. Had family also staying there, jacuzzi tub was black and mattress had stains on them along with the comforter. When we complained the clerk said house keeping cleaned the room. Well I'm a house keeper and have been for almost 20 years and NO THE ROOM WAS NOT CLEAN. Demanded a refund on that room and then they charged me a 95.00 cancellation fee even though I didn't even check in. Have been in a lot of motels in my life but have to say that rodeway inn in kendalville has been by far one of the worst ones. Strongly recommend stay away from this motel and go to BEST WESTERN!!!

I would review zero stars if possible. I made a reservation for Monday 8/23/21, arrived around midnight after a 10hr drive. There was nobody at the front desk. There was a note directing guests to call the hotel number for assistance. I called and called, no one answered. I knocked on the door to the back room behind the front desk, no one answered. I gave up after an hour and went to a different hotel. My card was already charged for the stay. DO NOT STAY at this hotel. I will update the review after I've had a chance to speak with the owner or Manager.
