Inspiring tour. Our son has a sports injury, so we were grateful for the the golf cart ride to the top of the hill and use of their umbrellas.

Nice historic site explaining the angelic and miraculous origins of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the role this venue played in the development of the Book of Mormon. …

Yes you can. Also, they open the event area to save seats around 12:15pm.
Yes. They have several different displays on loan from around the world. I was there last year and they had over twenty of them. They also have a outside nativity scene.
Right now you can park it in the visitor center parking lot, since they are closed the lot is pretty empty.
As of right now it is still on but that can change at anytime.
In the sacred grove, not far away. Maps are available in this visitor center.
Yes, Can we just put some stuff on them indicating that they are saved and then come back later
There is no train that goes to the hill. One will have to rent a car.
Rochester is the closest airport, it's about 45 minutes away. Syracuse and Buffalo each add about 1 - 1.5 hours to that. The Palmyra Inn is now a Best Western, but is definitely the closest and probably best hotel nearby. It will also almost certainly be booked full during pageant weeks, so if that's when you'll be arriving it's recommended to book as soon as you possibly can.
Joseph Smith first visited the hill in 1823. 1827 is when he reports to have taken the Gold Plates from the hill. 1830 is when the Book of Mormon was first published. It would have been in that 7 year span.
Yes, but it opens at noon on Sundays instead of nine.
September October: 9:00 am-7: 00 pm November-December: 9:00 am-5: 00 pm Sunday open 1:00 pm
Normal hours are 9 am to 9 pm, so probably that.
I don't know exactly, but I'd guess about 125 feet. I wasn't too far off. Wikipedia says it's 110 ft.
