Fire Island National Seashore

Hey John, yes actually. Last weekend people were naked on the beach. A lot of men fully naked and like 2 women also fully naked. A lot of women were topless. Hope that helps.

The private sections of F.I. have only sidewalks and bicycles, no cars. Dogs are required to be on leash, must take a ferry or boat

I don't know about hours, but you can take the watch hill ferry over and go to the beach. I've camped there and gone on day trips. I didn't notice any restrictions based on hours, but the ferry schedule pretty much limits you to how late you can stay. It's a beautiful beach and I highly recommend it! You can go to barrnett Beach Park, Watch Hill, Otis Pike Fire Island High Dune Wilderness or Smith point county Park campground all these are on fire island but Smith point you can go from the park on to far island to the campgrounds by driving as well as Robert Moses Park

Most of the beaches on the oceanside are open to the public. The beaches on the long island sound side are owned by the residents or are owned by a community group. Still it's a great place to make a day of it or if you can spend a few nights there.

Take the ferry from bay shore...you will get at the best place of that island with no need for a taxi boat

If you get a night fishing permit .you can park in feild 5 or 4 you maybe able to set a tent up if you are fishing overnight if you have the4 wheel drive pass you can definitely set up a tent at Democrat point

Here is the ferry schedule out of Bay Shore to Ocean Beach http://www.fireislandferries.com/schedules/ocean-beach/ People live there year round and there is a public school there. If you have a beach access vehicle with a permit to drive on the shore you can drive there.
