Buffalo General appears to be a hit or miss situation. One of my family members has been there for a month. He has reported rough treatment by some of the medical aides. There are students working with patients that DO NOT IDENTIFY themselves as students and have very cavalier attitudes. The nurses overall are very very good. In the ICUs, the treatment is excellent (except for that slow rolling big guy who is rough and lazy and expects the patient to do some of his work!) My suggestion is that family members visit and visit often. Ask questions and tell them that you expect your loved one to be treated with respect and care when needed. My loved one has sat in his own waste all night at times when the nurse/aide does not want to clean him. Hospitals are not what they used to be. You have to be vocal and demanding and do not leave your loved one unchecked. Visit EVERYDAY if possible. The doctors who have treated my loved one are excellent, but you have to pin them down. Insist that they give you the information you need to help your loved one -- DO IT THROUGH EMAIL and texts if possible so that you have documentation. You can use "MY CHART" patient portal to check the lab reports and to message the individual doctors. You are not going to get the treatment you should unless you follow these procedures. Document Everything.

Sadly, this is pretty much standard in healthcare. The patient revenue at this hospital system is 4 BILLION. The CEO makes over 2 million, with other executives making millions as well. They are a nonprofit avoiding taxes, taking government money, and can not even provide their hospitals with a few more ER doctors to have people in obvious duress seen promptly. Starting to think I'd rather just die than support these places anymore.

Absolutely terrible hospital!only giving one star because I have to in order to leave a review !!! My daughter went at 1pm and was in the waiting room until 8 pm!! And was sent there from urgent care who told her and wrote a letter saying condition could be life threatening… when they finally brought her to a room … only did a cat scan and iv , no blood work , nothing else and wasn’t sent home until 530 am the next day with absolutely no answers !! Terrible place , wouldn’t trust them ever again! If you are worried about your health I suggest you stay clear of here !
