It’s a nice campground and nice location but when we were there (weekend) people were inconsiderate to next level— riding ATVs directly next to the campsite (rather than in ATV area) back and forth endlessly until 9pm or later and screaming, playing super loud music until 2am. No campsite host anywhere to be seen.

Me and my brother got lost out here as kids we also rode our bikes north and nearly died from dehydration many crazy times in early 2000s

Okay campground if you’re looking for a quick stopover. Close to Truckee, but found it to be surprisingly very buggy and the water wasn’t turned on (mid-June)

The photo is site #27 and it's very close to the water. Many other sites have better shade but a longer walk to the water. I like this campground for several reasons. Close to highway 80 but no road noise at all. It's not too hot in the summer and the lake is a great temperature for swimming. You can ride a dirtbike from camp to the nearby ohv trail system. Lastly, it's just remote enough that you can probably get a site here for an impromptu trip.

There also is a dirt bike park near by the campsite.
Typically 2pm.
Not at this site. You can go to other spots on the lake
I don't think there is any BLM land in the area, you can confirm here: https://www.blm.gov/maps/frequently-requested/california While we were there, the park rangers checked site reservations daily and enforced no day-use
The lake is stocked on regular basis however at this time in July the fish are in deep water canyon near the dam. The lake is currently at 49% a capacity
Closes in october, no electric hookup
Campground host here... Actually, there are often showers in the early to mid-afternoon during early and late summer. ;) The campground does not have any kind of bathing facilities, but just a few minutes away at the Truckee Rec Center you can shower for just a few bucks.
Campground host here... Yes, Lakeside is a ride-in/ride-out campground. Please note the speed limit in the campground is 5mph. Not for safety, but because the campground is not paved and riding in and out of the campground kicks up a lot of dust, which can spoil (or save) a dinner. There is easy access to the Prosser Hill OHV staging area, and the majority of area trails are fire road, so they are suitable for everything from dirtbikes to rock crawlers.
