Absolutely beautiful campground. Just bring a canopy for shade as some of the campsites are not fully covered by the trees. Remember to bring the mosquito repellent and full range of clothes for all weathers since temps might go very low in the early morning even if it is summer. Nice bathrooms, payable showers, beautiful lake nearby. We had a great time. We'll definitely come back.

The first time I camped here was in the mid 50's when the parents sent me off to a summer camp in near Nevada City. Saw the movie "Giant" in Truckee at The Capital Theater (I think) and then we spent the night next to Donner Lake. I worried the tide might come and drown us in our sleep
