Good luck trying to get a prescription filled at the pharmacy. After 2 hours of waiting for my prescription to be filled I left. They had people waiting there for five and a half hours and still the prescription was not filled. The medical facility itself is not that bad with the doctors and nurses. The pharmacy is hot garbage. There is no prescription that takes that long to fill, no matter how busy you are no matter how big the prescription is. And then at 4:30 they just shut down with all the prescriptions that haven't been filled and people waiting there for hours and hours told to go home and come back tomorrow or their stuff would be mailed to them. It's a pretty sad excuse for a pharmacy.

I have found the providers and care here to be very good, however with the stipulation that you may have to wait 6 months or more for an appointment that in the civilian world would take 2 weeks. You may also have to wait an additional 3 months if you have something come up that causes you to reschedule your appointment.

Great place for vet's.

Thank you for taking such good care of my father in law, G. Kerns, USAF/ARMY Veteran. The Dialysis center and VA staff have been so wonderful to Gene for so many years. Mimi, Dominique, Sha'neeka and several of the medical staff came to visit him in his last days and to his memorial. Thank you for giving us 5 extra years we would have missed with Gene without your intervention. Bless you one and all.

my husband needs an eye appt. He's having problems with vision.
You can only transfer your veteran's care from Tampa. Civilian based medical care must be done through normal channels to one of the area's regular medical providers.

Yes as long as you are in the system
I have her as a doctor and haven't had too many problems with her. She doesn't want to listen sometimes and kind of brushes you off some as well. If you have a serious problem with her, get the patient advocate email and please, only email your issues. They tell you bs to your face and then refuse to fix anything. You can request to change pcps but they don't like for you to. Make sure you keep a record of your email complaints and if you don't hear anything, go to admin but good luck getting an answer but at least you have proof. An attorney may be needed as well
For C&P claim, VSO rep is there Wednesdays, first come first served off name list. Regional office downtown Winston Salem is available Monday thru Friday. Good luck!
Somewhat, there is a nurse that comes there who uses her energy to infuse you with healing energy. She hovers her hands over you (not touching you) and tries to remove any negative energy you may have. All while playing soothing music and you are laying in a neutral position.
Not on Saturdays. They only take dialysis patients on this day.
8 am
I know they have an oncologist But not sure about treatment.
Oh I am not sure. I am a veteran that goes there too.

As long as you have a current id and dd214, you can go to the front desk and set up your initial visit. They can handle everything right there.
They are giving them now. Check with your healthcare provider for an appointment.
I have dr hicks what is her first name
No
Yes
Yeah they have a pharmacy there, I'd advise bringing it with you instead of thinking they'll call other VA places, you know how the VA is.
Yes
If you are a Vet, then you have already signed up! Contact the VA HQ in your area to see if you qualify for benefits.
No
Yes
Just have to keep trying or contact patient advocate at clinic
Is your father a veteran and also enrolled in the VA healthcare system? Those are the required prerequisites. As a veteran who has used the VA healthcare system for years, I can tell you that being seen on a walk-in basis is difficult but not impossible. The Kernersville Health Care Center currently has no emergency department - the closest ER would be located at the Salisbury VAMC - so a walk-in appointment would have to be at one of the clinics the veteran has already sought care.
Yes
This is a family practice clinic. It is designed around the concept of wellness checks. There is no emergency room nor radiology, but there are doctors, nurses, a lab, an Opthalmology with lens Crafters, and things of that nature. It is a veterans assistance medical area.
That will happen upon first check in. They'll have that for you by the time you're done filling out the questionnaire, but getting to see your primary for the first time can be time consuming wait if you didn't schedule it.
Not even sure if they have one, but call 3365155000 and request a transfer 8-4p. Good luck!
It depends on the need. It could range from a few days to three months (tax dollars at work)
Call 336-515-5000 and ask for the Audiology Dept. for Kernersville. They might require a referral from his primary physician, so make sure you inquire about your particular situation. Good luck!
Yes. Call their information line and ask for administrative help. They'll talk you through it. 515-5000
I would think so, they have almost anything a vet requires, your primary care doctor could tell you for sure
They have an administrative support section. But if you want an attorney for medical assistance you'll have to go through the online support process. E-benefits dot com.
Not sure what type of sink condition you mean, but if it is part of the disease process then it should be. However, it is for your home conditioning it will only be partially covered. For the exact amount of coverage, you'll need to call and speak to a case manager. 336-515-5000 and ask to be directed to a case manager.
Sorry no
Yes
Yes. Second deck.
Normally lab work is entered into the system as an order by your primary care physician and he'll tell you when to go. If this is not what happened then you should call your physician's nursing team and verify it was scheduled before you go. Oftentimes the lab will turn away patients who aren't in their system as needing to provide samples (cost savings).
There is a neurological department, but you will have to call to find specialties.
Dr. Harless is an audiologist at the Kernersville VA, he works C&P as well as the outpatient clinic. The clinic ext is 21228. Having worked there I know Harless personally, he's a fine Dr.
When you call the attendant, ask for the Patient Services Advocate and report the issue. Other calling 100 times or physically just going, its your best option. Godd luck!
Not quite sure what clothing allowance you're referring to as we don't get one after we EAOS/Retire. If you're still active duty, you would need to see your admin guys.
The VA is a government agency. If the state or county issue a weather closure then they will be closed. They normally call all patients that day to inform them of the closure.
No emergency dept. Ray is right. Salisbury has one. It's either Salisbury or the ER of your choice. That's what was told to me.
This VA facility has no overnight capacity. All hotel stays are at your expense. You can talk to the billing desk at front entrance for any possible reimbursement options, but hotel bookings are up to you.
Tanglewood
Yes, definitely.
yes call
There is both an exam area and a place to get glasses. The kicker is that they send the glasses in the mail
Last time I was there, they did not, have to send u to out patient.
I don't think they do. I think dad had to go to Salisbury for urology.
I don't think so either. I know the doctors my dad was seeing are civilian.
No
Go to ebenefits.gov for your dd214 and other records.
Well since there's an upcoming holiday you might have to call and see.
The hours vary from day to day at this location. My dad was never able to get his permanent card due to their hours and his appointments not coinciding. I would give them a call and ask.
No emergency room at Kernersville VA...if triage as emergency at walk in clinic, they will call ambulance to take you across street to Kernersville Novant Hospital or to Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem...Hope this helps
She's right. You have to have a number to see a pharmacist by 1630 to have your RX filled that day. You get the # from one of the kiosks located outside the pharmacy.
Yes. My dad goes to 2 different VA clinics.
