I have a 1951 Ford and I am now interested in converting to power steering. I have two questions:: 1) Will your conversion work with a Ford 302 with stock exhaust manifolds? 2) Can you install it with engine in the car?

Yale Harker | Sep 28, 2019
Fat Man Fabrications | Sep 28, 2019

We did indeed use a 64-68 log type exhaust manifold on the 302 Ford in our prototype car. It can be installed with the engine in place. We did the install u sing a Butch's Rod Shop engine mount kit, and I do not know exactly where and how you mounted your engine, but as there was pretty good clearance for the exhaust I believe you should be OK. If you can respond with an email address or call us, we will be happy to send a copy of the instructions

Do you offer any frames for a 1955 Buick century 2 door hardtop

Aaron Sams | May 30, 2022
Fat Man Fabrications | Jun 29, 2022

Aaron, Sorry, but we do not offer a full frame your 55 Buick. We do offer a front frame stub though. This replaces the front frame section at a predetermined point forward of the front firewall. A frame stub will give you 3/4 of the benefit of a new frame at 1/3 the cost. Frame stubs are all model specific. If you have any other questions just give us a call at 704-545-0369

I have a 31 chevy sedan. It has an original Ford mustang..crossmember.. the rack is mounted to low..under radiator steering arms need about a 4binch spacer.. I was told you make them ?

Gary Amerman | May 30, 2022
Fat Man Fabrications | May 30, 2022

Gary, Sorry but we do not make a spacer for the steering arms or rack that would correct that much of a misalignment. We have our exclusive G-Tech outer tie rod ends that do have an extended shaft to move the pivot point down farther but they are nowhere near as long as what you would need.

Do you make an adapter to install tube shocks on the front of a 41 chevy with a knee action suspension?

I purchased a 1940 Nash that was customized in the 80, from what I can tell I Think it's welded on a 1973 El Camino .and I want to put Fatman kit on it with 1 inch drop axels . How do I make Shure I order the correct kit ?

fastfred cole | Nov 1, 2021
Fat Man Fabrications | Nov 1, 2021

Fred, If the original frame rails have been cut (which they probably have) to fit the GM front end onto the Nash, we can build a frame stub to fit your car. It would be set up with our independent front suspension. The Nash will require you to take some measurements off of what is there for some of the critical mounting locations (core support, bumper mounts and axle centerline). Please give us a call so we can walk you through the process.

I want to purchase and install a set of your dropped uprights for my 53 Buick Roadmaster 4 Door Series 70 but what is the turnaround time for altering my steering arms? And how is that done? Do you use a fixture of some type?

Nick Andrikou | Sep 27, 2021
Fat Man Fabrications | Sep 27, 2021

Nick, Right now it's taking a little over a week to modify and ship out your steering arms once we receive them. They are heated and bent in a fixture and then air cooled. We are starting development on building new drop steering arms for each of these applications as we receive in original sets.

Do you guys build roll cages?

Margarito, Sorry but we do not build roll cages.

I purchased a set of FatMan 2" Drop Spindles for a 1960 Cadillac, Series 62, Part# DS5760CAD. Having problems identifying the left and right spindles because of mounting of calipers. Could either one go in front or rear of rotor?

L M | Sep 27, 2020
Fat Man Fabrications | Sep 27, 2020

Lisa, The spindles will work on either side, but the calipers will typically mount to the rear, this will allow for more room up front for the sway bar.

I have a Fat Man strut front suspension on my 66 Nova, can't seem to get the struts mounted correctly, Would you have a schematic or pictures of the installation? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Rickey Cale.

Rickey Cale | Sep 27, 2020
Fat Man Fabrications | Sep 27, 2020

Rickey, We can should have some pictures that may help along with a fresh set of instructions. We may also be able to help you over the phone. Give us a call at your earliest convenience at either 704-545-0369 or 704-545-0724

I am wondering how much it would cost to build a new frame for my 1995 Chevy c1500 and if you guys could install it for me?

Keegan Jackson | Sep 28, 2019
Fat Man Fabrications | Sep 28, 2019

we do not build a new frame for that year truck at this time. If you are local to the Charlotte area we could consider it, using yours for a pattern.
