The Samuel Elbert Hotel

My husband and I stayed here while visiting Lake Hartwell. The hotel is historic and has recently been totally renovated. The place is immaculate. Our room had a very comfortable mattress ( I am picky) and the bathroom shower was large and all squeaky clean. The staff was accommodating and even served us fresh coffee after the restaurant was closed. They have a nice terrace to sip wine on, a fully stocked bar in the lobby and a good restaurant on site. It is on the Main Street in a quaint small town. We so much preferred this to the usual chain hotels off the expressway! Prices were reasonable and it was quiet! We read the history and found out that Samuel Elbert was a revolutionary war hero! It is nice to see small town America remembrance of where we came from. Thank you for a lovely time.

This is such an amazing hotel! From the front desk staff to the breakfast helpers, this is a great hotel that was needed in Elberton. The room was clean as well as the remainder of the hotel including the grounds. It would be great if Elberton would re-vitalize the entire square area inviting walking and exploring.

It is a beautiful restored historical building. Rooms are large with huge windows. Employees where all very friendly and helpful. I am giving it 3 stars because on the the last morning of our 3 night stay we were waken around 6 with pounding from their workers replacing windows. Two other rooms that were with us that we were to meet up with for breakfast before all of us heading to our homes, Florida, Michigan and Kentucky got up and left. We slept in the Northwest Corner Suite, website says sleep 2. it sleeps 4, the couch pulls out. A little confusing there too when I called for reservations. Over all great place to stay just make sure they are doing construction.

We were driving up from Florida to get our new puppy in the next town over. The hotel was recommended by friends and it was wonderful! The hotel is beautiful and the staff were very nice and helpful. The bar/restaurant is great with very affordable drinks/food. Wish we had had more time, the downtown area is very quaint.
